Brandon Nakashima defeated Marcos Giron in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 San Diego Open. It was his first ATP Tour title, and he won it in his hometown of San Diego. [1]

David Ferrer was the defending champion but chose not to defend his title.

Cristian Garín defeated Casper Ruud in the final, 7–6(7–4), 4–6, 6–3, to win the singles tennis title at the 2019 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships. The win earned Garín his first career Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles title and made him the first Chilean ATP title holder in ten years. Ruud was also in contention to win his first ATP Tour title after reaching his first final, joining father Christian Ruud as the only two Norwegian players to reach a final at this level.

Cameron Norrie defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 6–1 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters. It was his first ATP Tour Masters 1000 title, and he became the first Briton to win the title. Basilashvili became the first Georgian to reach a Masters-level final since Alex Metreveli in 1968, and the first to do so while representing Georgia as an independent nation.

This was the first edition of the tournament, which was primarily organized to compensate for the cancellation of Asian tournaments in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Djokovic did not lose a set during the tournament, and won his 1000th ATP Tour-level career match against Casper Ruud in the semifinals.

Borna Ćorić defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, 7–6(7–0), 6–2 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters. It was his first Masters 1000 title, and his first title overall since the 2018 Halle Open. Ranked No. 152 in the world and using a protected ranking for entry, Ćorić became the lowest ranked player to win a Masters event since the series' inception in 1990. He defeated five seeded players en route to the title.

The 2022 San Diego Open was a combined men's and women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 2nd edition of the event for the men and the 1st edition of the Southern California Open for the women since 2015. The event is part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the 2022 ATP Tour and a WTA 500 event on the 2022 WTA Tour. It was held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, United States, from September 19 through September 25, 2022 for the men, and from October 10 through October 16, 2022 for the women.

Richard Gasquet defeated Cameron Norrie in the final, 4–6, 6–4, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 ASB Classic. It was his 16th ATP Tour singles title, and his first since 2018.

Ben Shelton defeated Aslan Karatsev in the final, 7–5, 6–1 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Japan Open. It was his first ATP Tour title. He and his father Bryan Shelton became the fourth father-son duo in the Open Era to win tour-level singles titles.

Tommy Paul defeated Marcos Giron in the final, 7–6(7–3), 5–7, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2024 Dallas Open. It was his second ATP Tour title.

Jordan Thompson defeated Casper Ruud in the final, 6–3, 7–6(7–4) to win the singles tennis title at the 2024 Los Cabos Open. It was his first ATP Tour singles title and he saved three match points en route, in the quarterfinals against Alex Michelsen.
