The 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships were the women's tennis tournaments played from May 5 to May 20, 2023, at campus sites and Orlando, Florida, at the USTA National Campus. [1] [2] It was the 41st edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship. [3]
There were 64 teams selected to the women's team championship, 31 of which were automatic qualifiers from each Division I conference. The remaining 33 teams were selected at-large. Teams played two rounds of single-elimination matches in groups of four from May 5–6 at campus sites; the winners of those regionals advanced to a super-regional round on May 12 or 13, also held at campus sites. The remaining eight teams advanced to the championship rounds in Orlando, Florida. [1]

The remaining 49 players were selected at-large. The tournament was played following the team championship from May 22 to 27 in Orlando, Florida. [2]

The remaining 22 teams were selected at-large. The tournament was played following the team championship from May 23 to 27 in Orlando, Florida. [2]
Bryan Shelton is a former American college tennis coach and former professional tennis player. Shelton played collegiately for Georgia Tech from 1985 to 1988, and then played professionally from 1989 to 1997. He subsequently returned to his alma mater to coach the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's tennis team, which won the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship in 2007. He previously served as the head coach of the Florida Gators men's tennis team of the University of Florida, where he coached the Gators to winning the 2021 NCAA Championship. He is the only head coach to have won a national championship in both men and women's NCAA Division I Tennis.
The Trinity Tigers is the nickname for the sports teams of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. They participate in the NCAA's Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). The school mascot is LeeRoy, a Bengal tiger. In the 1950s, LeeRoy was an actual tiger who was brought to sporting events, but today LeeRoy is portrayed by a student wearing a tiger suit. Early in its history, the school participated in Division I/II athletics, but by 1991 the entire program made the move to Division III, at which time it joined the SCAC.

The 2008 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was held from May 30 through June 25, 2008 and was part of the 2008 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college baseball teams were selected out of an eligible 286 teams on May 26, 2008. The Florida Gators women's tennis team represents the University of Florida in the sport of tennis.
