The 15th Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships and the 20th Junior Asian Gymnastics Championships were held at the Gymnastics Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 2 to 4 May, 2024. The competition was a qualifying event for the 2024 Olympic Games. Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform individually or in groups on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and rope. The sport combines elements of gymnastics, dance and calisthenics; gymnasts must be strong, flexible, agile, dexterous and coordinated. Rhythmic gymnastics is governed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), which first recognized it as a sport in 1963. At the international level, rhythmic gymnastics is a women-only sport.
The Asian Gymnastic Union (AGU) organizes Asian Gymnastics Championships for each of the FIG gymnastic disciplines: men's and women's artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, aerobic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics. This article lists only the senior editions of the Asian Gymnastics Championships, in which competitors must be over 16 years of age. Specific editions of the Asian Championships also exist for junior athletes; for example, the first edition of the Junior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in 1971, but the first senior edition of the tournament was only held in 1996. Similarly, Junior Asian Trampoline Championships were held in 2010 and 2012, but only in 2014 the Asian Gymnastics Union held a senior tournament in conjunction with the junior championships for the first time.
Anastasiya Evgenievna Serdyukova is an Uzbekistani former individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the All-around bronze medalist at the 2014 Asian Games and the 2017 Asian Championships All-around gold medalist.
FIG World Cup refers to a number of events organized by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) across seven competitive gymnastics disciplines: 1) acrobatic gymnastics, 2) aerobic gymnastics, 3) men's artistic gymnastics, 4) women's artistic gymnastics, 5) women's rhythmic gymnastics, 6) trampoline and tumbling, and 7) parkour.
Sabina Tashkenbaeva is a former Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2019 Asian Championships all-around gold medalist.
The 12th Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from June 8 to 10, 2021. It served as a qualification for the Tokyo Olympics. The winners of the all-around competitions, individual Alina Adilkhanova and the group from Uzbekistan, each won a quota.
Takhmina Ikromova is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is an Asian Games champion individually and in the team event, and she is also a two-time all-around champion at the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, in 2022 and 2023. She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the rhythmic individual all-around.
Elzhana Taniyeva is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 Asian all-around champion and will represent Kazakhstan at the 2024 Summer Olympics. She is the 2022 Asian Games all-around and team silver medalist. She won three medals at the 2021 Summer World University Games and four medals at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games. She is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around.
Sagina Muratkyzy is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast, member of the national group.
Aidana Shakenova is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast, member of the national group.
Assel Shukirbay is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast, member of the national group.
Renata Zholdinova is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast, member of the national group.
Nilufar Azamova is an Uzbek rhythmic gymnast, member of the national group.
Mumtozabonu Iskhokzoda is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast who competes member of the national group.
Wang Zilu is a Chinese rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2023 Asian Championships all-around, hoop, and team bronze medalist and a 2022 Asian Games team bronze medalist. She is representing China at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around, and qualified for the final; her performance resulted in 7th place in the individual AA.
Evelina Vartanovna Atalyants is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. As an individual gymnast, she won the clubs title at the 2022 Junior Asian Championships and a team title at the 2023 Asian Championships. At the 2022 Asian Games, she won a gold medal in the team event and finished fourth in the all-around. She joined the senior national group in 2024, winning the group all-around title at the 2024 Asian Championships and qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympics, where they finished eighth in the group all-around final.
Milana Parfilova is a Kazakhstani rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 Asian Games individual bronze medalist and silver team medalist.
Lola Djuraeva is an Uzbek rhythmic gymnast.
Aruzhan Kalsayeva is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast, member of the national group.
Reina Matsusaka is a Japanese rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 all-around Asian bronze medalist.
