The Anteaters played their home games at Cicerone Field as a member of the Big West Conference. They were led by head coach Ben Orloff, in his sixth season as manager.

UC Irvine is coming off a 38–17 (19–11) season. The Anteaters finished fourth in the Big West Conference, but did not receive an at-large berth to the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
