The 2001 Nokia Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held March 3–11 at the Ottawa Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. It was the very first Brier to be sponsored by Nokia. The theme of the event was the 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the finals, Team Alberta, consisting of skip Randy Ferbey, fourth David Nedohin, second Scott Pfeifer and lead Marcel Rocque would capture their first of four Brier wins as a team. They edged out Team Manitoba skipped by Kerry Burtnyk in the final, 8–4. While the Brier was not unsuccessful, it did end up losing money. The total attendance was 154,136.
The 2010 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held between March 6 until March 14, 2010 in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Halifax Metro Centre. It marked the sixth time the Brier had been to Halifax, and the second time in eight years, having previously hosted the 2003 Nokia Brier.
The 2008 Boston Pizza Cup, the men's curling championships for Alberta, was held from February 12 to 17 at the Grant Fuhr Arena in Spruce Grove, Alberta. The Kevin Martin rink won the final over Randy Ferbey's team and represented Alberta at the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier, which they also won.

The 2022 Sentinel Storage Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Alberta, was held January 3 to 9 at the Bonnetts Energy Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The winning Laura Walker team represented Alberta at the 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and finished with a 3–5 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2022 Boston Pizza Cup, the provincial men's curling championship.

The 2024 Montana's Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from March 1 to 10 at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. Team Canada, who was skipped by Brad Gushue won their third straight Brier Tankard and represented Canada at the 2024 World Men's Curling Championship at the KSS Sports Complex in Schaffhausen, Switzerland where they won the silver medal.

The winning Aaron Sluchinski rink represented Alberta at the 2024 Montana's Brier in Regina, Saskatchewan where they finished tied for fifth in Pool B with a 4–4 record.
The 2025 Montana's Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, will be held from February 28 to March 9 at Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia. The winning team will represent Canada at the 2025 World Men's Curling Championship at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
The 2025 Men's Ontario Curling Championship, better known as the Ontario Tankard was held from January 19 to 26 at Cobourg Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario. It serves as the provincial men's curling championship for Southern Ontario. The winning Sam Mooibroek rink will represent Ontario at the 2025 Montana's Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship in Kelowna, British Columbia. The event was held in conjunction with the 2025 Ontario Women's Curling Championship, the provincial women's championship. Both events are held together in non-Winter Olympic years.
