The 2025 FIA F4 World Cup was a motor race for Formula 4 cars held on the streets of Macau on 16 November 2025. [1] The race itself was made up of two races: a qualification race that would decide the starting grid for the ten-lap main event. The 2025 race was the first running of the F4 World Cup.
Formula 4 cars previously competed in Macau from 2020 until 2022 as part of the Macau Grand Prix and as non-championship rounds of the F4 Chinese Championship. In 2023, the 2023 Macau Formula 4 Race as a non-championship round of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship. [2] [3]
All competitors used an identical Ligier-branded Mygale M21-F4 chassis with a 1.3 L turbocharged inline-4 engine. All 20 cars were centrally-run. [4] The entry list consists of drivers from across the world, with participation being determined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. [5]
Of the twenty drivers entered into the race, seven of them were previously champions in Formula 4 machinery, including Tiago Rodrigues, Fionn McLaughlin, Alexandre Munoz, Shimo Zhang, Gino Trappa, Kean Nakamura-Berta, and Emanuele Olivieri. [6] [7] Despite being selected to compete, Ethan Nobels withdrew from the race following an accident in the F4 Brazilian Championship earlier the same month. [8]
