NBL1 West seasons

The 2025 NBL1 West season will be the fifth season of the NBL1 West and 36th overall in State Basketball League (SBL) / NBL1 West history. The regular season will begin on Friday 4 April and end on Saturday 2 August. The finals will begin on Friday 8 August and conclude with both the women's grand final and the men's grand final on Saturday 23 August. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Regular season

The regular season will begin on Friday 4 April and end on Saturday 2 August after 18 rounds of competition. [5] [6] [7] Easter games in round 3 will once again see all teams play on a Thursday night, followed by Anzac Round in round 4, Heritage Round in round 9, and First Nations Round in round 14. [8]

The finals will begin on Friday 8 August and consist of four rounds. [8] The finals will conclude with the women's grand final and the men's grand final on Saturday 23 August, both at RAC Arena. [9]

Natalie Burton is an Australian basketball player and coach. She played college basketball in the United States for the West Virginia Mountaineers before beginning her career in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) in 2012. She played seven seasons in the WNBL and played in Germany and France in 2018 and 2019. In the NBL1 West, Burton has played for the Perry Lakes Hawks and Warwick Senators. She is a four-time NBL1 West champion, three with the Hawks and one with the Senators (2022). She helped the Senators win the NBL1 National championship in 2022 as well. She served as an assistant coach with the Perth Lynx in the WNBL between 2021 and 2024.

Bradley Robbins is an Australian basketball coach and former player who is most known for his time spent in the National Basketball League (NBL) with the Perth Wildcats. He currently serves as the head coach of the Warwick Senators women's team in the NBL1 West.

Anneli Maley is an Australian professional basketball player for the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She is also contracted with the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She made her WNBL debut in 2016 and then spent two seasons in the United States playing college basketball for the Oregon Ducks and TCU Horned Frogs. With the Bendigo Spirit in 2022, she was named the WNBL Most Valuable Player.

Ryan Petrik is an Australian basketball coach who currently serves as head coach of the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). Prior to becoming head coach of the Lynx in 2020, Petrik led the Rockingham Flames women's team in the State Basketball League (SBL) to two championships in 2014 and 2015 and earned SBL Coach of the Year honours in 2012. Between 2015 and 2020, he served as an assistant coach with the Lynx, and between 2019 and 2024, he served as head coach of the Flames men's team. In 2022, he was named the WNBL Coach of the Year and guided the Flames men to the NBL1 West championship and NBL1 National championship.

The 2021 NBL1 West season was the inaugural season of the NBL1 West following the rebrand of the State Basketball League (SBL) under the NBL1 banner. It marked the 32nd season in league history after the 2020 State Basketball League season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2022 NBL1 West season was the second season of the NBL1 West and 33rd overall in State Basketball League (SBL) / NBL1 West history. The regular season began on Friday 8 April and ended on Saturday 13 August. The finals began on Friday 19 August and concluded with the women's grand final on Friday 2 September and the men's grand final on Saturday 3 September.

Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard is an Australian professional basketball player for the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She played a season of college basketball for the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine before starting her WNBL career as a development player with the Perth Lynx in 2020. In 2022, she became a fully contracted player with the Lynx and won the NBL1 West championship and NBL1 National championship with the Warwick Senators.

Teige Morrell is an American professional basketball player for the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She is also contracted with the Lakeside Lightning of the NBL1 West. She played college basketball for the Nevada Wolf Pack before playing professionally in Australia. She won the NBL1 Central MVP in 2019 with the Woodville Warriors and then spent a season with the Bendigo Spirit in the WNBL. In 2021, she helped the Southern Tigers win the NBL1 Central championship behind another MVP season. She joined the Joondalup Wolves in 2022 and earned All-NBL1 West First Team honors in 2022 and 2023. After a season with the Perth Lynx in the WNBL, she joined the Lakeside Lightning in 2024 and earned NBL1 West MVP.

The 2024 NBL1 West season was the fourth season of the NBL1 West and 35th overall in State Basketball League (SBL) / NBL1 West history. The regular season began on Thursday 28 March and ended on Saturday 20 July. The finals began on Friday 26 July and concluded with both the women's grand final and the men's grand final on Saturday 10 August.

Stephanie Gorman is an Australian professional basketball player for the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She is also contracted with the Cockburn Cougars of the NBL1 West. She played college basketball for Utah State and San Diego. In 2023, she debuted for the Lynx in the WNBL. With the Cougars, she helped the team win the 2023 NBL1 West championship while earning grand final MVP honours.
