Alan Jacob Milwee (born January 19, 1986) is an American football coach who currently is the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Texas at Austin. He also has stints as an assistant coach at Akron, East Mississippi Community College, and North Alabama. He played college football at North Alabama, where he broke program records in completions and touchdown passes and was a two-time Harlon Hill Trophy finalist.
A native of Boaz, Alabama, Milwee initially walked-on at Alabama in 2004, redshirting the season as a reserve quarterback. [1] He then transferred to then-Division II North Alabama to play for head coach Mark Hudspeth. After spending the 2005 season as a backup quarterback, Milwee was named the starting quarterback in 2006 where he compiled a 33–5 record and broke several program records including passing yards, completions, and passing touchdowns. [2] He was also a two-time finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, an award given to the top college football player in Division II football. [3]
Milwee worked as a graduate assistant at his alma mater North Alabama under Terry Bowden from 2009 to 2010, and later at East Mississippi Community College in 2011 as their quarterbacks coach. [4]
Milwee was named the quarterbacks coach at Akron in 2012, working once again under Terry Bowden. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2013 at the age of 26, the 2nd youngest coordinator in FBS at the time of his hiring. [5] He was not retained after the firing of Bowden in 2018 and was replaced by Tommy Zagorski.
Milwee was hired as an offensive analyst at Alabama. [6] He was later hired to be the offensive coordinator at Arkansas State under former Alabama analyst Butch Jones before accepting a position at Texas. [7]
Milwee was hired away from Arkansas State as the quarterbacks coach at Texas under former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. [8]
Charles Thomas Frye is an American football coach and former player who is the offensive coordinator for the Florida Atlantic Owls. He played as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL).
Terry Wilson Bowden is an American college football coach. He was most recently the head football coach at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a position he held until the conclusion of the 2023 season. Bowden served as the head football coach at Salem University (1983–1985), Samford University (1987–1992), Auburn University (1993–1998), the University of North Alabama (2009–2011), and the University of Akron (2012–2018). He is a son of former Florida State University head football coach Bobby Bowden and a brother of Tommy Bowden, former head football coach at Clemson University, and Jeff Bowden, the former offensive coordinator at Florida State.
Stephen Sarkisian is an American football coach and former player who is the head football coach at the University of Texas at Austin. He previously served as the head football coach at the University of Washington from 2009 to 2013 and the University of Southern California (USC) from 2014 to 2015.
Major Lee Applewhite is an American football coach and former player who is currently the head coach for the South Alabama Jaguars. He served as head coach at the University of Houston from 2017 to 2018, where he previously served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In 2013, he was the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Texas under his head coach as a player, Mack Brown. Prior to Texas, Applewhite served as offensive coordinator at Rice University under Todd Graham in 2006 and at Alabama under Nick Saban in 2007. He was the youngest offensive coordinator among Division I-A schools at that time.
Shane Montgomery is an American college football coach and former player. He is an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, positions he has held since 2024. He was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University at Buffalo. Montgomery served as the head football coach at Miami University from 2005 to 2008, compiling a record of 17–31.
Douglas Keith Nussmeier is an American football coach and former player who is the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played professionally as a quarterback in the NFL and Canadian Football League (CFL). Nussmeier played college football for the Idaho Vandals football, winning the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding offensive player in NCAA Division I-AA. He was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 1994 NFL draft. He finished his playing career with the CFL's BC Lions.

Arthur Gustavo Malzahn III is an American football coach. He is currently the head coach at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He was the head football coach at Auburn University from 2013 to 2020. He helped lead the 2010 Auburn Tigers to a national championship. As head coach at Auburn, he led the team to a SEC Championship win and an appearance in the 2014 national championship. Malzahn has coached Heisman winner Cam Newton and two Heisman finalists: Nick Marshall and Tre Mason, including coaching 14 All-Americans. During Malzahn's tenure at Auburn, he was the second-longest tenured head coach at one school in the SEC, behind Nick Saban. Out of active head coaches, Malzahn also holds the best record against coach Saban.
William James O'Brien, nicknamed "the Teapot", is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at Boston College. Previously, he was the head coach of the Houston Texans from 2014 to 2020, and at Penn State from 2012 to 2013. Prior to Boston College, O'Brien was the offensive coordinator at the University of Alabama and for the New England Patriots. After the Patriots parted ways with longtime head coach Bill Belichick at the end of the 2023 season, O'Brien was not retained by the team.
Robert Michael Bobo is an American college football coach who is currently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Georgia, his alma mater. He was the head coach at Colorado State from 2015 to 2019.
Alexander Christian Mortensen is an American football coach and former player. He played college football as a quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Samford Bulldogs. He was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2009.
Daniel Patrick Enos is an American football coach and former player who is the offensive analyst at the University of Florida. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Arkansas. He was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Miami in 2019. Enos served as head football coach at Central Michigan University from 2010 to 2014. He was also running backs coach at Michigan State University, where he played as a quarterback from 1987 to 1990.
Bryan Dale Harsin is an American football coach who was most recently the head coach for the Auburn Tigers. Prior to coaching at Auburn, he coached the Boise State University Broncos from the 2014 season through the 2020 season where he posted a 69–19 overall record. He began his head coaching career at Arkansas State University for the 2013 season. Harsin was the co-offensive coordinator at the University of Texas for two seasons. Before leaving for Texas in 2011, Harsin was an assistant at Boise State for 10 seasons, the last five as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Will Hall is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at the University of Southern Mississippi. Hall served as the head football coach at the University of West Alabama from 2011 to 2013 and at the University of West Georgia 2014 to 2016. He also served as offensive coordinator for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2017. He grew up in Mississippi and attended the University of North Alabama where he played quarterback from 2002 to 2003. He won the Harlon Hill Trophy in 2003. He began his coaching career in 2004 and held assistant coaching positions at Presbyterian, Henderson State, Southwest Baptist, Arkansas-Monticello and West Alabama.
Rhett Lashlee is an American college football coach who is the head coach at Southern Methodist University. He previously served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Auburn University from 2013 to 2016 and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Miami from 2020 to 2021
Clay Charles Helton is an American college football coach and former player, who is currently the head coach at Georgia Southern. He was previously the head coach of USC from 2015 to 2021. Helton has also been an assistant coach for Duke, Houston and Memphis. His father, Kim Helton, was a coach in college, the National Football League, and the Canadian Football League; his brother, Tyson, is the head coach at Western Kentucky.

This was the Crimson Tide's 126th overall season, 87th as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and 29th within the SEC Western Division. They played their home games at Bryant–Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and were led by 14th-year head coach Nick Saban.

Brent Dearmon is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at the University of North Alabama. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Kansas, Middle Tennessee State University, and Florida Atlantic University. Dearmon was also the head coach at Bethel University in Tennessee, where he won a Mid-South Conference championship in his lone season there. He also played college football at Bethel, where he set career and single-season records in passing yards and touchdowns. Dearmon spent time playing professionally for indoor football teams before getting into coaching.
