Erotylidae, or the pleasing fungus beetles, is a family of beetles belonging to Cucujoidea containing over 100 genera. In the present circumscription, it contains 6 tribes and 10 subfamilies. In other words, the narrowly circumscribed Erotylidae correspond to the subfamily Erotylinae in the definition sensu lato. There are doubts on the monophyly of lower ranked taxa within Erotylidae, with further phylogenetic studies requiring better sampling and studies of unexplored character sets, for example the metendosternite and penile flagellum, which are generally lacking detailed morphological studies within the Coleoptera literature. The Eroytlina taxonomy is based on traits such as their different colors and not off morphological differences like mouthparts, thorax, and abdominal terminalia (Pecci-Maddalena).
Kateretidae also known as short-winged flower beetles are a family of beetles in the superfamily Cucujoidea. There are 10 extant and 4 extinct genera, and at least 40 described species. They are found worldwide except in New Zealand. Adults are anthophagous, feeding on flowers, while the larvae are spermatophagous inside the flower corolla.
Toramus is a genus of pleasing fungus beetles in the family Erotylidae. There are about nine described species in Toramus.
Languria is a genus of lizard beetles in the family Erotylidae. There are about 18 described species in Languria.
Languriini is a tribe of beetles, known as lizard beetles, in the family Erotylidae, subfamily Languriinae. Lizard beetles are commonly found on leaves or flowers, and their larvae bore into plant stems. Adults are generally long and parallel-sided with a red thorax. There are about 5 genera and at least 20 described species in Languriini.
Xenoscelinae is a subfamily of pleasing fungus beetles in the family Erotylidae. There are about 8 genera and 12 described species in Xenoscelinae.
Pharaxonotha is a genus of pleasing fungus beetles in the family Erotylidae. There are at least three described species in Pharaxonotha.
Pseudischyrus is a genus of pleasing fungus beetles in the family Erotylidae. There are at least four described species in Pseudischyrus.
Hirsutotriplax is a genus of pleasing fungus beetles in the family Erotylidae. There is one described species in Hirsutotriplax, H. mcclevei.
Haematochiton is a genus of pleasing fungus beetles in the family Erotylidae. There are at least three described species in Haematochiton.
Polycaon is a genus of horned powder-post beetles in the family Bostrichidae. There are at least four described species in Polycaon.
Acropteroxys gracilis, the slender lizard beetle, is a species of lizard beetle in the family Erotylidae. It is found in Central America and North America, including into Canada.
Phymaphora is a genus of handsome fungus beetles in the family Endomychidae. There are at least two described species in Phymaphora.
Zarhipis is a genus of glowworm beetles in the family Phengodidae. There are at least three described species in Zarhipis, all restricted to the western regions of North America.

Dasydactylus is a genus of lizard beetles in the family Erotylidae. There is one described species in Dasydactylus, D. cnici.
Nicobium is a genus of death-watch beetles in the family Ptinidae. There are about five described species in Nicobium.
Xenomycetes is a genus of handsome fungus beetles in the family Endomychidae. It is the only genus in the subfamily Xenomycetinae. There are at least two described species in Xenomycetes, both endemic to northwestern North America.
Mycotretus is a genus of pleasing fungus beetles in the family Erotylidae. Mycotretus is the largest genus in the family Erotylidae with at least 204 different species:
