Air Republiq Airlines is an airline in the Philippines running unscheduled flights to the northern Philippines.
Earlier called Batanes Airlines, Air Republiq commenced operations in 2011 as an arm of South Phoenix Airlines to cater to the islands of Batanes, linking them to different major cities of Luzon. [1] It uses the Piper Navajo for this purpose. Operating with an interline agreement with Cyclone Airways (an offshoot of Cyclone Flight Training School, located in Cauayan), Air Republiq flies under an air operator's certification from Cyclone Airways. [2]
The airline runs unscheduled flights to Batanes (the northernmost part of the Philippines) and connects Basco to Laoag and Tuguegarao.
In 2013, the company acquired a BAe Jetstream 41 on a lease purchase basis, with plans to use this aircraft to connect Manila to several underserved routes in the Philippines. With the idea of connecting the islands and expanding the routes, the company decided to restructure the fleet with ATR 42-320 for better performance. The airline also planned to procure its own air operator's certificate from the CAAP by 2015, and was looking to start international flights to Taiwan and Malaysia by 2016.
Basco, officially the Municipality of Basco, is a 5th class municipality and capital of the province of Batanes, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 9,517 people.
The British Aerospace Jetstream 41 is a turboprop-powered feederliner and regional airliner, designed by British Aerospace as a stretched version of the popular Jetstream 31. Intended to compete directly with 30-seat aircraft like the Embraer Brasilia, Dornier 328 and Saab 340, the new design eventually accommodated 29 passengers in a two-by-one arrangement like the Jetstream 31. The airline also had an agreement on selected routes flown by Air Philippines. PEAC was also an affiliate airline of TNT Airways, with PEAC operating TNT leased BAe 146 aircraft.
Highland Airways was an airline based in Inverness, Scotland. It ceased trading on 24 March 2010 after failing to secure new investment. The airline operated passenger and freight charters as well as scheduled services from its main base at Inverness Airport. Other services included newspaper distribution to the northern and Western Isles and, until recently, charter services for corporate clients. Highland Airways was under talks for a buyout by Perth-based, Air Charter Scotland. Aircraft were also based at Cardiff Airport.

WCC Aviation, Inc., operating as Sky Pasada, is an airline based in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines owned and operated by the Guico family. Founded in 2010, it primarily serves the northern Luzon provinces of Batanes, Cagayan and Isabela as well as the city of Baguio from its hub at Binalonan Airport.
Laoag International Airlines Flight 585 was a scheduled flight operated by Laoag International Airlines from Manila to Basco, Philippines via Laoag. On November 11, 2002, the Fokker F-27 Friendship crashed into Manila Bay shortly after takeoff from Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Of the 34 passengers and crew on board, 15 survived.
Magnum Air (SkyJet), Inc., operating as SkyJet Airlines, is a Philippine low-cost regional airline based in Manila, Philippines. Previously an air charter company, SkyJet commenced commercial operations on 14 December 2012, offering direct flights from Manila to underserved destinations, particularly, Basco, Batanes; Coron, Palawan; San Vicente, Palawan; and Camiguin. It bills itself as the first boutique airline in the Philippines.
Fil-Asian Airways, formerly Mid-Sea Express, was a Cebu-based airline with AOC issued by CAAP. It was formed in 2011 and ceased operating in 2014. Mid-Sea Express started as air charter operator and non-scheduled air taxi headquartered at Mactan–Cebu International Airport in Lapu-Lapu City in Central Visayas, in the Philippines. As Fil-Asian Airways, its slogan was "The Asian experience". The airline was operated from major airports such as Mactan–Cebu International Airport in Cebu, Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City and Zamboanga International Airport.
Silvino Artemio Barsana Agudo, also known as S.B. or Binong, was a Filipino businessman, lawyer, World War II veteran, and public servant. He was the governor of Batanes province in the Philippines from 1968 to 1971.
