Aka Meme is an album by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow. [1] In 1996, it was deleted and replaced by Red 2 Eyes . [2]

Merzbow is a Japanese noise project started in 1979 by Masami Akita. Merzbow is best known for a style of harsh, confrontational noise as exemplified on the 1996 release Pulse Demon. Since 1980, Akita has released over 400 recordings and has collaborated with various artists.

Deletion is a music industry term referring to the removal of a record or records from a label's official catalog, so that it is out of print, but usually at a record artist's request.

The album is dedicated to the kakapo, a critically endangered parrot of New Zealand, and all profits from the release will be donated to the Kakapo Recovery program. The recording has a drone element. A track called "Kakapo 2" later appeared on the album Hanakisasage.
