Almas (Persian : الماس‎, also Romanized as Ālmās and Almās; also known as Almāsī and Almaz)^[1] is a village in Guney-ye Gharbi Rural District, Tasuj District, Shabestar County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 326, in 108 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Guney-ye Gharbi Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Tasuj District, Shabestar County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 7,867, in 2,295 families. The rural district has 8 villages.

Tasuj District - formerly Anzab District - is a district (bakhsh) in Shabestar County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 18,708, in 5,440 families. The District has one city: Tasuj. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Chehregan Rural District and Guney-ye Gharbi Rural District.
