Shironamhin is a Bangladeshi rock band formed in Dhaka in 14 April 1996. Following as a rock group emerging from Dhaka's underground music in the late 1990s, they were distinguished for their extended psychedelic and progressive compositions, multi-instrumental experimentation, and philosophical lyrics and became one of the leading band of the Bengali progressive rock genre. In 2008, the band became a member of the Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA).

আবার (Again) is the third studio album by Bangladeshi rock band Black, released on July 10, 2008. After a full five-year hiatus the band released the album under the sponsorship of Warid Telecom. A gala was held for the album's release at Dhaka's Bashundhara City shopping mall, with the band performing various songs from the album with collaborations from other notable artists. The album was said to have sold 5,000 copies three hours after launch and is considered to be Black's most critically acclaimed album and a landmark record for the rock music scene of Bangladesh.

Talaash is the second studio album of the Pakistani sufi rock band Junoon, released on September 3, 1993. The album was to be their first with bassist Brian O'Connell, who joined the band after Nusrat Hussain departed from the band to pursue his career as a solo artist and released his debut album Amrit in 1992. This was also the first Junoon album produced by Salman Ahmad and O'Connell, both also went on releasing several other albums by Junoon before O'Connell left the band after Dewaar in 2003. The album also served as a soundtrack for the Pakistani television show Talaash, which featured the band and its novel storyline was based on the band.

Some of their notable Bollywood music production are with Amaal Mallik, Armaan Malik & Arko Pravo Mukherjee. In October 2019, "Ishqam" was released by Mika Singh and Ali Quli Mirza and it was entirely composed and produced by Apeiruss. "Ishqam" since gathered around 230 million views on Youtube.

Bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeth have had the greatest influences on Bangladeshi heavy metal musicians. Other 1970s bands to influence are bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Motörhead. The first bands to play heavy metal in Bangladesh were bands like Warfaze and Rockstrata. The most prominent era for heavy metal movement was between the early 1990s to early 2000s. Warfaze, Rockstrata, Aces and in Dhaka are often considered as the "big four founders of heavy metal". Other 2000s metal bands are bands like Artcell, Aurthohin, Cryptic Fate, Powersurge, Mechanix, Metal Maze, Vibe and Stentorian. Alternative bands like Nemesis, Arbovirus and Black also played some alternative metal songs over the years. Warfaze, Artcell and Aurthohin together are the most popular rock/metal trio of Bangladesh.
Black Hour, often stylized as Blackhour, is a Pakistani progressive rock band from Islamabad, founded in 2007 by guitarist Hashim Mehmood. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on four members for more than a decade: Hashim Mehmood, drummer Daim Mehmood, bassist Salman Afzal and lead vocalist Tayyab Rehman. Black Hour has consistently incorporated progressive, folk, classical, and alternative influences into its compositions, as well as strong influences from heavy metal, especially in their early works.
