Amity University is a private university located in Patna, India. The university was established in 2017 by the Amity Education Group through the Bihar Private University (Amendment) Bill, 2017. [2] [3] It offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. [4] The university additionally operates Amity Global Business School in Patna. [5]

Kumar was named in Time magazine's list of Best of Asia 2010. In 2023, he was awarded the Padma Shri, the country's fourth highest civilian award by the Government of India for his contributions in the field of literature and education.

Patna Science College, established in 1927, is one of the oldest science colleges in Patna, Bihar. It is affiliated to Patna University, and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science.

Bihar has been a major centre of learning and home to one of the oldest universities of India dating back to the fifth century and the tradition of learning which had its origin from ancient times was lost during the medieval period when it is believed that marauding armies of the invaders destroyed these centres of learning.
