Amphitrite is a genus of polychaete belonging to the family Terebellidae. [1] [2] The genus has cosmopolitan distribution. [2]
The World Register of Marine Species recognizes the following 21 species: [1]
The Terebellidae is a marine family of polychaete worms, of which the type taxon is Terebella, described by Carl Linnaeus in his 1767 12th edition of Systema Naturae.
The Trochidae, common name top-snails or top-shells, are a taxonomic family of very small to large sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the clade Vetigastropoda.
The Serpulidae are a family of sessile, tube-building annelid worms in the class Polychaeta. The members of this family differ from other sabellid tube worms in that they have a specialized operculum that blocks the entrance of their tubes when they withdraw into the tubes. In addition, serpulids secrete tubes of calcium carbonate. Serpulids are the most important biomineralizers among annelids. About 300 species in the family Serpulidae are known, all but one of which live in saline waters. The earliest serpulids are known from the Permian.
Cantareus is a genus of air-breathing land snails, a pulmonate gastropod in the family Helicidae, the typical snails.
Theba is a taxonomic genus of air-breathing land snails, medium-sized pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Helicidae, the true snails.
Ampharetinae are a subfamily of terebellid "bristle worm". They are the largest subfamily of the Ampharetidae, of which they contain the great majority of the described genera.
Patella is a genus of sea snails with gills, typical true limpets, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Patellidae, the true limpets.
Raphitoma is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Raphitomidae.
Mangelia is a large genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Mangeliidae.
Cyclope is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Nassariidae, the Nassa mud snails or dog whelks.
Planaxis is a genus of small sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Planaxidae.
Simnia is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Ovulidae.
Alvania is a genus of minute sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks or micromollusks in the family Rissoidae.
Berthella is a genus of sea slugs, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Pleurobranchidae.
Ampharete is a genus of polychaete annelid worms. They have a single, chevron-shaped row of teeth.
Actinia is a genus of sea anemones in the family Actiniidae. Actinia display a rare form of heteromorphosis in which a cut inflicted on a specimen can develop into a second mouth.
Owenia is a genus of marine polychaete worms in the family Oweniidae.
Jaminia is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the subfamily Eninae of the family Enidae.
Thelepus is a genus of polychaetes belonging to the family Terebellidae.
Simniinae is a subfamily of molluscs in the Ovulidae family of gastropods.
