Anahydrophorus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. [1] It contains only one species, Anahydrophorus cinereus. It is recorded from southern Spain and Portugal in Europe, and it is widely distributed along the coasts of North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia). [2]
Dolichopodidae, the long-legged flies, are a large, cosmopolitan family of true flies with more than 8,000 described species in about 250 genera. The genus Dolichopus is the most speciose, with some 600 species.
