Anne Martin (born September 24, 1961) is an American rower. [1] She competed in the women's quadruple sculls event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. [2] After her rowing career, Martin worked as the Chief Investment Officer at Wesleyan University. [3] [4]

Biography

Martin was born in 1961. [1] She attended Smith College, and took up rowing in the early 1980s during her sophomore year. [3] She competed at the World Rowing Championships from 1984 to 1987. [1] [5] At the 1984 and 1985 Championships, she won bronze in the single sculls. [1] At the 1986 World Rowing Championships, Martin won gold in the coxless four. [1] [3] After the World Championships, Martin began training for a spot on the US Olympic team. [3]

At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Martin competed in the women's quadruple sculls, [6] [7] where the US team finished in ninth place. [8]

After her rowing career, Martin went to Stanford University earning an MBA. [1] She started work in the finance sector at Alex. Brown & Sons, [1] before moving to a private equity company in San Francisco. [1] After becoming a director at Yale Investments Office, [9] Martin became the chief investment officer at Wesleyan University. [3]

Martin is married to John Pescatore, who also rowed for the United States at the Olympics in 1988 and 1992, [10] and has twin boys. [11] She was inducted into the National Rowing Foundation's hall of fame in 1997. [12]

Caryn Davies is an American rower. She won gold medals as the stroke seat in women's eight at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics. In April 2015 Davies stroked Oxford University to victory in the first ever women's Oxford/Cambridge boat race held on the same stretch of the river Thames in London where the men's Oxford/Cambridge race has been held since 1829. She was the most highly decorated Olympian to take part in either [men's or women's] race. In 2012 Davies was ranked number 4 in the world by the International Rowing Federation. At the 2004 Olympic Games she won a silver medal in the women's eight. Davies has won more Olympic medals than any other U.S. oarswoman. The 2008 U.S. women's eight, of which she was a part, was named FISA crew of the year. Davies is from Ithaca, New York, where she graduated from Ithaca High School, and rowed with the Cascadilla Boat Club. Davies was on the Radcliffe College (Harvard) Crew Team and was a member on Radcliffe's 2003 NCAA champion Varsity 8, and overall team champion. In 2013, she was a visiting student at Pembroke College, Oxford, where she stroked the college men's eight to a victory in both Torpids and the Oxford University Summer Eights races. In 2013–14 Davies took up Polynesian outrigger canoeing in Hawaii, winning the State novice championship and placing 4th in the long-distance race na-wahine-o-ke-kai with her team from the Outrigger Canoe Club. In 2013, she was inducted into the New York Athletic Club Hall of Fame. She has served as a Vice President of the U.S. Olympians Association and as athletes' representative to the Board of USRowing.

Tina Manker is a German rower. She was junior world champion in 2006, U23 world championship, and world champion in the women's quad sculls elite class at the 2011 World Championships. She finished her rowing career after participating at the 2012 Summer Olympics in double scull. She trained as a teacher in German and English, first at the Humboldt University of Berlin and then at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. After several years teaching at Onslow College, where she also coached the rowing team, she now works for High Performance Sport New Zealand in Cambridge.

Fiona Bourke is a New Zealand rower. She won the 2014 World Championship in the women's double sculls with Zoe Stevenson, having won the silver medal in the same team the year before. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's quadruple sculls. She was also part of the New Zealand women's quadruple sculls team that won bronze at the 2011 World Championships. Bourke only took up rowing when she started university in 2007, at the University of Otago.

Melanie Wilson is a British rower who competed for the GB rowing team. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's quadruple sculls. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won a silver medal in the women's eight.

Inge Janssen is a Dutch rower. A world champion in the women's four, she was part of the Dutch quadruple sculls that won silver at the 2016 Olympics and competed in the double sculls at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Charlotte Ruby L. Hodgkins-Byrne is a British rower who competes in international level events. She is the younger sister of World Rowing Championships bronze medalist Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne.
