Greece has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 41 times since its debut in 1974, missing six contests in that time. Greece's first win came in 2005 with "My Number One", sung by Helena Paparizou. The Greek national broadcaster, Ellinikí Radiofonía Tileórasi (ERT), broadcasts the event each year and organises the process for the selection of the Greek entry. Greece has never finished last in the contest.
Cyprus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with "Why Angels Cry" performed by Annet Artani. The song placed 15th in the semi-final with 57 points and therefore did not qualify for the final.
"Secret Combination" is a song by Greek American singer Kalomira. Described as an American production of "perky pop" and R&B, the track was composed by Poseidonas Giannopoulos with lyrics by Konstantinos Pantzis. It was released on 26 February 2008 by Heaven Music and served as the first single released from Kalomira's fourth studio album, Secret Combination: The Album. The song was as the Greek entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, held in Belgrade, where it placed third behind Russia and Ukraine.
"Fairytale" is a song written and composed by Belarusian-Norwegian violinist/singer Alexander Rybak, and the first single from Rybak's debut album Fairytales. This song was the winner of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, Russia.
Eleftheria Eleftheriou is a Greek Cypriot singer, musician, and actress. She came to prominence through her participation in the second season of the Greek version of The X Factor. Shortly after her elimination, Sony Music Greece signed her and submitted her as a candidate to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. She was later disqualified from the national final, following the leak of her song onto the internet by an unknown party.
"Lipstick" is a song by Irish pop duo Jedward. It is written by Danish songwriters Lars Jensen and Martin Larsson and British lyricist Dan Priddy. It is Jedward's third single and the first song released from their second studio album, Victory and is best known as Ireland's entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 held in Düsseldorf, Germany.
"Popular" is an English language song written by Fredrik Kempe and performed by Swedish singer Eric Saade. It is the second single from Saade's second album Saade Vol. 1 and was the Swedish entry in Eurovision Song Contest 2011. It was first released on 28 February 2011 in Sweden and topped the Swedish Singles Chart. It has been covered by Elena Paparizou.
Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Their selected song "Aphrodisiac" was written by Dimitri Stassos, Mikaela Stenström and Dajana Lööf, and was performed by Eleftheria Eleftheriou, who had previously attempted to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. The entry was selected through the televised national final Ellinikós Telikós, organised by the country's public broadcasting service Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) and held on 12 March 2012 at the River West shopping mall in Athens. Due to the debt crisis facing Greece at the time, the record label of the entry was expected to take on the costs of recording and producing the candidate songs. Universal Music Greece was the only label to accept these terms and put forth four competing acts for consideration. The winning act was selected using a combination of jury and televoting. Following the national final, Eleftheriou embarked on a promotional campaign visiting Turkey and the Netherlands.
"Echo " is a song by Indonesian/French singer-songwriter Anggun. A mixed French-English song, it was the French entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The song was released as the lead single from the international edition of her album Echoes and the third single in France. The full English version of "Echo " was later included on her Indonesia-only compilation Best-Of: Design of a Decade 2003–2013 (2013).
"La La Love" is a song by Greek Cypriot singer Ivi Adamou. It was chosen to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The song was released in Europe on 3 February and in China on 14 April. The song was included in the euro edition of her debut studio album, San Ena Oniro (2011).
Dimitri Stassos, is a Swedish songwriter known for his entries in the Eurovision Song Contest as well as writing hits for Ola Svensson and others.
"Only Love Survives" is a song recorded by Irish singer-songwriter Ryan Dolan and was selected to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The song was performed at the first semi final and successfully advanced to the final. Dolan performed the song on 18 May 2013 at the final with 25 other countries. The song finished in 26th place with 5 points.
"Golden Boy" is a song performed by Israeli singer Nadav Guedj and was written by Doron Medalie. It was chosen by public broadcaster IBA to represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The song was premièred on 12 March 2015. It was released as a digital download on 15 March 2015 as the lead single from his debut studio album Nadav Guedj (2016). It is the first ever Israeli Eurovision entry with lyrics entirely in the English language. Within the Eurovision Song Contest, the song went through to the grand final after finishing in 3rd place in the 2nd Semi-final. The song finished in 9th place in the grand final with 97 points.
"Don't Come Easy" is a song performed by Australian recording artist Isaiah Firebrace. The song was released as a digital download on 8 March 2017 through Sony Music Australia. The song represented Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
"Fuego" is a song by Greek singer Eleni Foureira. It was composed, written and produced by Alex P, Geraldo Sandell, Viktor Svensson, Anderz Wrethov and Didrick and is described as a dance-pop song.
"Toy" is a song recorded by Israeli singer Netta, and was Israel's submission to the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, which it won. The track was written by Doron Medalie and Stav Beger, and produced by Beger. The song was released on 11 March 2018 along with its official music video clip, which was directed by Keren Hochma. The song was leaked online a day before the official release.
"Replay" is a song performed by Georgian-Greek singer Tamta. The song title and artist were revealed on 21 December 2018 by the CyBC. The song was written by Alex P. A preview of the song was published on 24 February 2019. The song was performed during the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 as the Cypriot entry and gained enough votes to qualify for the final, where it placed 13th with 109 points.
"Spirit in the Sky" is a song by Norwegian music group Keiino. It was released as a digital download and for streaming on 25 January 2019 as the lead single from their debut studio album OKTA. It represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel. It was performed during the second semi-final on 16 May 2019, and qualified for the final. It placed first in the televote with 291 points but finished in sixth place with 331 points overall.
