Dimitrios "Mimis" Papaioannou was a Greek professional footballer, who played as a forward, mostly for AEK Athens and a manager. Widely regarded as the greatest Greek footballer of his generation and one of the best Greek footballers of all time, as he was named the best Greek footballer of the 20th Century by the IFFHS.

The Agia Sophia Stadium, also known as OPAP Arena for sponsorship reasons and as AEK Arena for UEFA competitions, is the home stadium of AEK Athens. With an all-seater capacity of 32,500 it is the third largest football stadium overall in Greece. It is located in Nea Filadelfeia, a northwestern suburb of Athens, Greece. The new arena was built on the site of the former Nikos Goumas Stadium. The construction of the arena was completed in October 2022. Agia Sophia Stadium is the newest stadium built in Greece.

The Greek Basketball Super Cup or Hellenic Basketball Super Cup, is the top-tier level professional basketball national super cup competition in Greece. The first edition of the tournament, was organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.), in 1986. It was contested by the Greek Basket League champions and the Greek Basketball Cup winners. The 2022–23 season was the 99th season in the existence of AEK Athens F.C. and the 62nd competitive season and eighth consecutive in the top flight of Greek football. They competed in the Super League and the Greek Cup. The season began on 20 August 2022 and finished on 24 May 2023.

The 1962–63 season was the 39th season in the existence of AEK Athens F.C. and the fourth consecutive season in the top flight of Greek football. They competed in the Alpha Ethniki and the Greek Cup. The season began on 27 September 1962 and finished on 7 July 1963.

Giorgos Petridis was a Greek professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and a later manager.

Georgios Moschos was a Greek professional basketball player. He played for Panellinios Athens, Iraklis Salonica, and AEK Athens basketball clubs and died from lymphoma at the age of twenty-nine. He was nicknamed Piccolino.

The 2023–24 season is the 100th season in the existence of AEK Athens F.C. and the 63rd competitive season and ninth consecutive in the top flight of Greek football. They are competing in the Super League, the Greek Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League. The season covers from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.
