This event was rebranded from ICC World Twenty20 to ICC Men's T20 World Cup in November 2018. India are the current champions and also the joint most successful side with West Indies and England after winning their 2nd title in the 2024 Tournament.

The first edition of the tournament took place in 2021. The tournament was named after England's former captain and most capped player, Charlotte Edwards.
