The T11 category is for athletes with a visual impairment. A T11 athlete may be entirely without sight, or be able to perceive light, but have no ability to see the shape of a hand at any distance. T11 athletes commonly run with guides.

Jaryd Clifford is an Australian Paralympic, vision impaired, middle-distance athlete. He represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics. He won gold medals in the Men's 1500m and 5000m T13 events at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. Clifford represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, where he won silver medals in the Men's 5000m T13 and Men's Marathon T12, and a bronze medal in the Men's 1500 m T13.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen Norwegian runner

Jakob Ingebrigtsen is a Norwegian middle-distance runner. He won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 1500 metres event, setting the new Olympic and European record. Ingebrigtsen also won two gold medals at the 2018 European Championships, in the 1500 and 5000 metres events. On 10 June 2021, at the Diamond League, Ingebrigtsen set a new European record in the 5000 m with his time of 12:48.45. He is the current indoor World Record holder in the 1500m. His older brothers Henrik and Filip are also middle-distance runners who compete internationally. They are trained by their father Gjert Ingebrigtsen. On 12 October 2019, he was the youngest pacemaker in the successful sub-2 hour marathon attempt by Eliud Kipchoge. As of 2021 Jakob is the 8th, 6th, 9th and 12th fastest man over the 1500m, 2000m, 3000m and 5000m respectively. He also holds the distinction of being one of only two men to run a sub-3:30 1500m, sub-7:30 3000m and a sub-12:50 5000m along with 3000m and 2 mile world record holder Daniel Komen. Jakob Ingebristen is also a star in a Norwegian reality show called Team Ingebrigtsen, which revolves around him and his brothers and shows the trials and tribulations that come in middle-distance running.

Selemon Barega Ethiopian long-distance runner

Selemon Barega Shirtaga is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes primarily in the 5000 metres and 10,000 meters. He won the gold medal at the 10,000 m at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. He represented his country at the 2017 World Championships finishing fifth in the final. He also won gold medals at the 2016 World U20 Championships and 2017 World U18 Championships. He won a silver medal in the men's 5000 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Mens 5000 metres Olympic athletics event

The men's 5000 metres event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 3 and 6 August 2021 at the Japan National Stadium. Approximately 45 athletes competed; the exact number was dependent on how many nations use universality places to enter athletes in addition to the 42 qualifying through time or ranking.

Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Mens 10,000 metres Olympic athletics event

The men's 10,000 metres event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 30 July 2021 at the Japan National Stadium. 25 athletes competed. None of the 2016 medalists took part in the competition. Selemon Barega from Ethiopia won the event, with Ugandans Joshua Cheptegei, the world record holder, and Jacob Kiplimo coming second and third, respectively. All of them won their first Olympic medal.
