Atria Convergence Technologies Limited, branded as ACT, is an Indian telecommunications company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. ACT offers fibre to the home (FTTH) services under the brand name "ACT Fibernet" and digital television services under the "ACT Digital" brand. The company provides services in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. [1]
ACT was the fifth largest internet service provider in India as of January 2021. As on 31 March 2022, ACT was the fourth largest wired broadband service provider in India with over 20 lakh (2 million) subscribers.
Atria Convergence Technologies Limited was founded in 2000 by Sunder Raju in Bengaluru. [1] Private equity firm India Value Fund Advisors (IVFA) acquired a majority stake in the company in 2008. [5]
In 2009, the company acquired Beam Telecom Pvt. Ltd for an undisclosed sum. [6] Beam Telecom was founded by Brijesh Chandwani in 2004, [7] and offered broadband services in Hyderabad under the brand name Beam Fiber. ACT acquired an additional 20% stake in Beam Telecom in June 2014, raising its total stake in the company to 80%. [5] In July 2014, ACT rebranded its broadband service from ACT Broadband to ACT Fibernet. [8] [9] [10]
ACT continued to operate services in Hyderabad under the Beam Fiber name until 2015. On 16 February 2015, ACT announced that it was merging Beam Telecom Pvt. Ltd into itself, and would offer wire-line optical fibre broadband services in Hyderabad under the ACT Fibernet name. [6] On the same day, ACT announced the launch of 100 Mbit/s plans. [11]
On 22 July 2016, ACT made its presence in the capital city of Delhi, with the launch of four plans and highest speed of 100 Mbps.
On 30 March 2017, ACT launched 1 Gbit/s wired broadband plans in Hyderabad, becoming the first ISP in India to offer practically gigabit speeds. [12] It also announced plans to introduce the gigabit speed to other cities. [13] By July, the company was in talks with other ISP providers to increase its presence in the country, while also installing 1,000 WiFi hotspots in Hyderabad as part of the 'City WiFi Project'. [14]
ACT Fibernet expanded its presence by launching services in Madurai in September 2018 [15] and Warangal in October 2018.
In 2019, ACT expanded its services to Jaipur, Lucknow and Ahmedabad.

SK Broadband, Inc. KRX: 033630, formerly known as Hanaro Telecom, is a Seoul-based telecommunications company and a wholly owned subsidiary of SK Telecom. It is one of the largest broadband Internet access providers in South Korea. Until its takeover in 2008, Hanaro controlled nearly half of the Korean landline market, as it was the only last mile-competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) other than the state-owned KT Corp. SK Broadband also has a division known as "Broad &" that controls a large portion of the South Korean calling card market.

It provides mobile voice and internet services through its nationwide telecommunications network across India. It is the largest government-owned-wireless telecommunications service provider in India.
Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd, formerly BITV Cable Networks, is an Indian cable television service operator based in Mumbai. It was the first company to provide Internet using the CATV network in India, and the first cable operator to launch a digital platform in 2006. Hathway Broadband Internet was the first cable ISP in India. Business India Television (BITV) Cable Networks Pvt Ltd was acquired by Hathway in 1999. As of 2007, the company had a 51% stake in Bhupendran Bhaskar Multinet and 50% stake in Gujarat Telelinks Pvt Ltd (GTPL). In 2011, Hathway GTPL entered in Assam with a MoM with V&S Cable Pvt Ltd, and started operations in West Bengal as they acquired KCBPL to create a subsidiary, GTPLKCBPL, responsible for providing services in West Bengal.

Bharti Airtel Limited, commonly known as Airtel, is an Indian multinational telecommunications services company based in New Delhi. It operates in 18 countries across South Asia and Africa, as well as the Channel Islands with $60 billion market capital and $600 million net profit revenue $15 billion and 70,000 employees. Currently, Airtel provides 4G and 4G+ services all over India and 5G service in selected cities. Currently offered services include fixed-line broadband, and voice services depending upon the country of operation. Airtel had also rolled out its VoLTE technology across all Indian telecom circles. It is the second largest mobile network operator in India and the second largest mobile network operator in the world. Airtel was named India's 2nd most valuable brand in the first ever Brandz ranking by Millward Brown and WPP plc.
Aircel Ltd. was an Indian mobile network operator headquartered in Mumbai that offered voice and 2G and 3G data services. Maxis Communications held a 74% stake and Sindya Securities and Investments held the remaining 26%. Aircel was founded by Chinnakannan Sivasankaran and commenced operations in Tamil Nadu in 1999. It was once a market leader in Tamil Nadu and had considerable presence in Odisha, Assam and North-East telecom circles. 2G and 3G Services including voice were shut down in all circles due to failure in merge with Reliance Communications.

Furthermore, TDCs de facto monopoly on last mile infrastructure has come under attack. In the last decade regional power companies have formed national business alliances aimed at implementing FTTH for private and business end users.
True Corporation Public Company Limited (TRUE) is a communications conglomerate in Thailand. True controls Thailand's largest cable TV provider, TrueVisions, Thailand's largest internet service provider True Internet and one of Thailand's largest mobile operators, TrueMove H, which is second only to AIS. As of August 2014, True, along with True Telecommunications Growth Infrastructure Fund, had a combined market capitalization of US$10 billion. TrueMove is also a partner of Vodafone Group. True is a subsidiary of Charoen Pokphand Group, which holds 50% of True's shares as of March 2017. It operates fixed-line, wireless, cable TV, IPTV and broadband services.
