Atyoida is a genus of freshwater shrimp in the family Atyidae. [1] [2] There are five species in the genus, each endemic to a different Pacific island group. [1] [2] The type species, Atyoida bisulcata , is endemic to Hawaiʻi and described by John Witt Randall in 1840. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

Atyoida bisulcata, also called ʻŌpae kalaʻole or ʻŌpae kuahiwi in Hawaiian, is a species of freshwater shrimp endemic to Hawaiʻi in the family Atyidae. It was described in 1840 by John Witt Randall and is the type species for the genus Atyoida.
Trichia dromiaeformis is a crustacean that lives in the waters of the western pacific, both the northern and southern hemisphere. It was described as Zalasius dromiaeformis by Mary J. Rathbun in 1897, and this name is still sometimes used. It was first described by De Haan in 1839. It is of the genus Trichia, and family Xanthidae. They are extremely camouflaged and live in sandy, muddy substrate. It grows shaggy hair on its dorsal side and the outside of its legs that resembles algae.
