The India cricket team toured Sri Lanka between 18 July and 2 September 2001. The two sides played a triangular ODI series also involving New Zealand, following which they played a three-match Test series. India's tour also included a one-day and a three-day fixture ahead of the ODI and Test series respectively.
The Australia national cricket team toured South Africa during the 1996–97 season and played a three-match Test series and a seven-match One Day International series against the South Africa national cricket team.
The Indian cricket team toured South Africa during the 1996–97 season, playing three Tests from 21 December 1996 to 30 January 1997. Prior to the series, India toured South Africa in the 1992–93 season, losing the Test series 0–1. India was led by Sachin Tendulkar while South Africa was led by Hansie Cronje. The series was Tendulkar's first overseas Test tour as captain and third overall. The tour began with a Test series, consisting of three matches. South Africa won the first two matches by a huge margin, thereby winning the series 2–0, while the final Test ended in a draw. At the end of the series, Brian McMillan of South Africa emerged as the top run-scorer with 296 runs, with an average of 98.66. He was closely followed by fellow team member Daryl Cullinan with 291 runs and India's Rahul Dravid. Allan Donald and Javagal Srinath finished the series as top wicket-takers capturing 20 and 18 wickets respectively. The former was named "man of the series".
The Indian cricket team toured the West Indies during the 1961–62 season to play a five-match Test series against the West Indies. The tour also included four tour matches against the West Indies' first-class sides. The West Indies won the Test series 5–0. In the total of 12 games that India played, they won two, lost six and drew four.
The India cricket team toured New Zealand in the 1980–81 season to play a three-match Test series and a two-match One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand. The tour also included two tour matches against New Zealand's first-class sides. After the tour ended, India played Fiji in a two-day game in Lautoka, defeating them by 220 runs. New Zealand won the ODI series 2–0 and the Test series that followed 1–0. It was their first series win against India in Tests in seven attempts.
The Indian national cricket team toured Australia in the 1999–2000 season. They played 3 Test matches losing all the three of them. They played 8 One Day Internationals as part of the Carlton & United Series against Pakistan and Australia.

The England cricket team toured India from 30 October 2012 to 27 January 2013. The tour consisted of four Test matches, five One Day Internationals and two Twenty20 International matches. A three-day training camp was held from 26 to 28 October at the International Cricket Council Global Cricket Academy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before the tour. The England team returned to the United Kingdom after the Twenty20 series and returned in the new year for the One Day International series. During the intervening period, India hosted Pakistan for two T20Is and three ODIs. At the conclusion of the tour, the English team travelled to New Zealand.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the full dates in September 2017. Ahead of the ODIs, Australia played a 50-over warm-up match against India's Board President XI, with Australia winning by 103 runs. India won the ODI series 4–1 and returned to the top of the ICC ODI Championship. In accordance with the International Cricket Council's (ICC) new playing conditions, the Decision Review System (DRS) was used for the first time in a T20I match in this series. The T20I series was drawn 1–1, with the third match called off due to a wet outfield.
The 2017 South Africa A Team Tri-Series was a cricket that took place in South Africa in July and August 2017. It was a tri-nation series between South Africa A, Afghanistan A and India A. The one-day matches were played as List A fixtures. Following the List A fixtures, South Africa A and India A played two four-day games with first-class status, also called unofficial Tests.
The New Zealand cricket team toured India in October and November 2017 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The fixtures replaced the planned visit to India by Pakistan that was listed on the Future Tours Programme. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the full dates in September 2017. On 25 September 2017, New Zealand named the first nine players for the ODI squad. The remaining players for New Zealand's ODI and T20I squads were named on 14 October 2017.
The 2003–04 TVS Cup was a One Day International cricket tournament held in India from 23 October to 18 November 2003. It was a tri-nation series between the Australia, India and New Zealand. Australia defeated India in the final to win the tournament.
The India cricket team toured Australia from November 2018 to January 2019 to play four Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Initially, the Test match at the Adelaide Oval was planned to be a day/night fixture, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declined the offer from Cricket Australia to play the match under lights. In April 2018, the Western Australian Cricket Association confirmed that the Perth Stadium would host its first ever Test match. During the second Test, it became the tenth venue in Australia to host a Test match.
In July and August 2018, South Africa A cricket team visited India to play two first-class matches against India A. India A won the two-match series 1–0. They were joined by India B and Australia A cricket team for a List-A Quadrangular Series in August. India-B defeated Australia-A in the final to win the series. After Quadrangular series, Australia-A played two first-class matches against India A.The two-match series was drawn 1-1.
