Award at Birdland, also known as Earl Bud Powell, Vol. 10, is a live album by jazz pianist Bud Powell, recorded at Birdland on October 1, 1964 with bassist John Ore and drummer J. C. Moses. It was released by the Mythic Sound label in 1989. [1]
Scott Yanow noted that "the recording quality is quite erratic" and described it as "not the strongest Bud Powell set available," but also commented that "this interesting release hints at what might have been and shows that Powell could still play well this late in his troubled life." [1]
The Penguin Guide to Jazz gave a higher rating and described Powell's performances at Birdland as "the last great sessions of his life." [2]

Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell was an American jazz pianist and composer. A pioneer in the development of bebop, jazz critics have commented that his compositions and playing style "greatly extended the range of jazz harmony," and his application of complex bebop phrasing to the piano influenced both his contemporaries and later pianists including Walter Davis, Jr., Toshiko Akiyoshi, and Barry Harris.
Jazz at Massey Hall is a live jazz album recorded on 15 May 1953 at Massey Hall in Toronto, Canada. Credited to "the Quintet", the group was composed of five leading "modern" players of the day: Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Charles Mingus, and Max Roach. It was the only time that the five musicians recorded together as a unit, and it was the last recorded meeting of Parker and Gillespie.
Sarah Vaughan, reissued in 1991 as Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown, is a 1955 jazz album featuring singer Sarah Vaughan and trumpeter Clifford Brown, released on the EmArcy label. It was the only collaboration between the two musicians. Well received, though not without some criticism, the album was Vaughan's own favorite among her works through 1980.
