The 23rd BET Awards took place on June 25, 2023, to celebrate achievements in entertainment and honors music, sports, television, and movies. [1] It was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Contents

The nominations were announced on June 8. [2] Canadian rapper Drake received the most nominations with seven, followed by GloRilla with six, 21 Savage and Lizzo with five each, and Beyoncé, Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Ice Spice, and SZA, all with four. [3] [4] The Viewer's Choice Award category also returned after not being presented the year prior. The first wave of performers was announced on June 15. [5] On June 23, it was announced that rapper Busta Rhymes would be the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, [6] and Patti LaBelle will perform a tribute to the late Tina Turner. [7] The award show received mixed reviews; with some praising the performances but criticizing the choice of winners.

"Tomorrow" is a song by American rapper GloRilla. It was released on July 15, 2022 as a single from Collective Music Group's compilation album Gangsta Art (2022). It was written by the artist with Antonio Anderson Jr and produced by Macaroni Toni. On September 23, 2022, the official remix of the song, titled "Tomorrow 2", with American rapper Cardi B was released. The remix brought the song to its peak at number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

<i>Anyways, Lifes Great</i> 2022 EP by GloRilla

Anyways, Life's Great is the second EP by American rapper GloRilla. It was released on November 11, 2022, through Collective Music Group (CMG) and Interscope Records. It later peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200 and was nominated for Album of the Year at the BET Awards. The bonus edition was released on March 15, 2023 with four new songs. The EP was supported by the singles "F.N.F. " with Hitkidd, "Blessed", and "Tomorrow 2" with Cardi B, which reached the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100.

The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards were held on October 3, 2023, as the 17th installment of the BET Hip Hop Awards, intended to recognize the best in hip hop music of 2023. The ceremony was taped in Atlanta, Georgia on October 3, and broadcast on BET the following week on October 10. The awards were hosted by Fat Joe.
