KTM is an Austrian motorcycle, bicycle and motorsports brand which traces its foundation in 1934 as Kronreif & Trunkenpolz Mattighofen. Today, Pierer Mobility AG operates as the manufacturer of KTM branded motorcycles; whereas KTM Fahrrad AG operates as the manufacturer of KTM branded bicycles.
Bajaj Auto Limited is an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing company based in Pune. It manufactures motorcycles, scooters and auto rickshaws. Bajaj Auto is a part of the Bajaj Group. It was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj (1889–1942) in Rajasthan in the 1940s.
The Bajaj Pulsar is a range of motorcycles manufactured by Bajaj Auto in India. It was developed by the product engineering division of Bajaj Auto in association with Tokyo R&D, and later with motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr. A variant of the bike, the Pulsar 200NS was launched in 2012, but it was suspended for some time. With average monthly sales of around 86,000 units in 2011, Pulsar claimed a 2011 market share of 47% in its segment. By April 2012, more than five million units of Pulsar were sold. In 2018, they celebrated selling over ten million Pulsars backed an exclusive TV commercial and a marquee ride to in 6 cities to write "PULSAR" on a pre-defined route. The model is also sold as Rouser under other markets, such as South America.
The Bajaj Discover is a line of commuter motorcycles manufactured by Bajaj Auto. The bike, initially launched in the year 2004, had been a success in the Indian two wheeler segment until it was discontinued in 2020 due to too many models being introduced under the Discover brand which led to poor sales. It was replaced by Bajaj Pulsar 125.
Kawasaki Motors Philippines Corporation is a subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. under the motorcycle unit. It manufactures motorcycle/motorcycle parts, and bicycle/bicycle parts.
TVS Motor Company is an Indian multinational motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Chennai. It is the third-largest motorcycle company in India in terms of revenue. The company has annual sales of three million units and an annual production capacity of over four million vehicles. TVS Motor Company is also the second largest two-wheeler exporter in India with exports to over 60 countries.
The Bajaj Avenger is a cruiser style motorcycle designed and manufactured by Bajaj Auto in India. It draws the styling and other design cues from the Kawasaki Eliminator which had an air-cooled, single-cylinder Kawasaki engine and was sold at a premium. It was launched with a 180 cc engine, which has subsequently been increased to 200 cc and then 220 cc.
The Bajaj CT 100 is a 100 cc commuter motorcycle built by Bajaj Auto. It is the entry level commuter motorcycle offered by Bajaj Auto.
The Honda Activa is a motor scooter made by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). It was launched in India in May 1999. Production in Mexico began in 2004. It is a 109/125 cc, 7 bhp (5.2 kW) scooter. The vehicle has the option of kick- and self-start.
The Bajaj Wind125 is a standard street motorcycle by Bajaj Auto designed for the middle class Indian urban rider. In the Philippines, it is designed for tricycle and delivery business. It is now no longer in production for the Indian market, though the bike is made for the export market.
The Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si was a motorcycle manufactured in India by Bajaj Auto. It was launched in September 2007. It clocked up sales of 18,000 units in its first month and sold around 28,000 units per month. In January 2009, a 135 cc version of XCD was launched. Bajaj reported that more than 20,000 units of XCD 135 were sold in its first month of launch Due to reduced sales, the 125 cc version was discontinued by Bajaj in November 2009, followed by the 135cc variant.
TVS Flame was a 125 cc motorcycle developed by TVS Motors. It was launched in the Indian market in January 2008 and discontinued in 2012 after TVS launched the Phoenix.
Yamaha Libero G5 is a 106 cc, single-cylinder four-stroke motorcycle manufactured by India Yamaha Motor. Its predecessor was known as just Yamaha Libero. Unlike Libero G5, Libero had tachometer and round headlights but lacked fuel gauge. However, Libero G5 came with a sporty headlight and fuel gauge, but lacked the tachometer. A new set of air scoops with a honeycomb grille do dual duty; directing airflow over the engine block and also neatly covering the gap between the engine and the fuel tank. The Libero G5's frame continues to be the tubular dual-cradle type.
The KB100 was Bajaj Auto's response to the opening up of the Indian markets to Japanese automobile giant Kawasaki Heavy Industries. This is the very first production product as a result of Bajaj Auto and Kawasaki Heavy Industries in 1980s. A legendary bike of its class of two stroke at that time.
Triumph Motorcycles Ltd is the largest UK-owned motorcycle manufacturer, established in 1983 by John Bloor after the original company Triumph Engineering went into receivership. The new company, initially called Bonneville Coventry Ltd, continued Triumph's lineage of motorcycle production since 1902. They have major manufacturing facilities in Thailand.
The Honda Shine is a 125cc motorcycle developed by Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) and Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL), first introduced in India in 2006. It was a 4-speed motorcycle. It is one of the best-selling motorcycles in India in the 125cc segment. The motorcycle has seen numerous improvements every year as Honda releases new revisions every year that are either cosmetic changes like new colors & graphics, or little features like compliance with Bharat BS-IV emission norms as required in Indian subcontinent. The 2019 Honda CB Shine brings new 5-spoke alloy wheels and chrome featuring headlamps, along with usual graphic changes.
Spirit is a scooterette manufactured in India by Bajaj Auto, a motorised vehicle manufacturing company. It is powered by a two-stroke, 60 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It has a two-speed automatic transmission, with kick/electrically started ignition. It was launched in 1999, "targeted at the youth segment, Spirit is ideal for college students. As it is light in weight, women can also ride it. The USP, of course, is its two-speed automatic transmission" is how it is described by The Financial Express quoting Bajaj officials. Naushad Forbes et al. consider it as being launched in January 2000. Spirit was one of the eighteen models Bajaj Auto launched in eighteen months "...after eighteen years with one model..." as its president is quoted saying.
Mahindra Centuro is a 110cc Motorcycle manufactured in India by Mahindra Two Wheelers. The Centuro gets a remote lock with a flip key, the remote lock uses a 96-bit secure access just like four wheelers. The Centuro has already created a buzz in the market with its design and features and is likely to give leaders Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj, TVS and Honda some serious competition. The bike has been designed and developed from the ground-up at their R&D facility in Pune, in view of demands and much criticism received from thousands of customers in the segment.
The KTM 390 Duke and RC 390 are 373.2 cc (22.77 cu in) displacement single-cylinder engine motorcycles assembled by Bajaj Auto, and KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing, Inc. (KAMMI) for the Austrian manufacturer KTM. The bikes were developed under a joint program of Bajaj and KTM engineers, in which the concept was developed in Austria, while everything else, including design and final product development, was done in India by Bajaj. The 390 Duke standard debuted at the 2012 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, and went on sale in India and the Philippines in 2013 and in the US in 2015. The RC 390 sport bike was presented at EICMA the following year. After the Duke's initial release, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer announced plans to export the 390 Duke to the US for 2014. Bajaj said eventually the bike will be sold in 80 countries worldwide.
The Hero Honda Ambition is a commuter motorcycle launched by Hero Honda in 2002 with similar engine architecture as the Hero Honda CBZ, with a reduced bore diameter but same stroke. This gave the Ambition a 133.3 cc (8.13 cu in) swept volume single-cylinder engine.
