The Bangladesh cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in November 2024 to play the Afghanistan cricket team. [1] The tour consisted of three One Day International (ODI) matches. [2] [3] In September 2024, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed the fixtures for the tour, with the venue yet to be confirmed. [4] The series formed part of both teams' preparations for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy which is set to take place in February 2025. [5]

Originally, the series was scheduled to played in July 2024 with two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. [6] Later it was rescheduled to played in Greater Noida between July 25 and August 6 with three ODIs and three T20Is. [7] However, it was postponed due to weather conditions that suggested rain during that point of time in Greater Noida. [8]

Bangladesh named uncapped pacer Nahid Rana and wicket-keeper Jaker Ali in the squad. Zakir Hasan and Nasum Ahmed returned to the squad after a year. [11] On 7 November, Mushfiqur Rahim was ruled out of the remaining ODIs due to a finger fracture. [12] On 11 November, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was ruled out of the third and final ODI match due to a groin injury, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz named as captain. [13]

Mehidy Hasan Miraz is a Bangladeshi international cricketer who plays for the Bangladesh national team. A bowling-all-rounder, he is a right-handed batter and a right-arm off break bowler. On 11 February 2016, he was awarded 'Player of the Tournament' at the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2016, becoming the only Bangladeshi player to achieve this honor in an ICC Event. In November 2018, against the West Indies, he took the best match figures for a Bangladesh bowler in a Test match. In February 2021, he scored his maiden century in Tests against the West Indies. In the same series, he became the fastest bowler for Bangladesh, in terms of matches, to take 100 wickets in Test cricket, doing so in his 24th match. In May 2021, he was the No. 2 ODI bowler in ICC Rankings, becoming the third Bangladeshi bowler ever to hold that position; the other two being Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzak.

The Bangladeshi cricket team toured New Zealand from December 2016 to January 2017 to play two Test matches, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20Is). New Zealand won both the ODI and T20I series 3–0 and won the Test series 2–0.

The 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that took place in September 2019. It was a tri-nation series featuring Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The Bangladesh national cricket team has appeared in each Cricket World Cup since their first appearance at the 1999 Cricket World Cup as an associate team which was mainly held in England. The Afghanistan cricket team toured Bangladesh in February and March 2022 to play three One Day International (ODI) and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. On 1 February 2022, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the schedule for the tour. The ODI matches took place in Chittagong, with the T20I matches played in Dhaka.

The Indian cricket team toured Bangladesh to play two Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) in December 2022. The Test series formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. On 20 October 2022 Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the fixture. However, on 23 November, the venue of the third ODI was shifted from Mirpur to Chittagong due to political reasons.

The Afghanistan cricket team toured Bangladesh in June and July 2023 to play one Test, three One Day International (ODI) and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed this FTP tour in their press release.

The players' draft for the 2022–23 Bangladesh Premier League took place on 23 November 2022 at Le Meridian Hotel in Dhaka.

The New Zealand men's cricket team toured Bangladesh in September 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches. The International Cricket Council (ICC) finalized the bilateral series in a press release. The matches were used as preparation for both teams ahead of the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Following the World Cup, the New Zealand team returned in November 2023 to play two Test matches. The Test series formed part of 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured England in May 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches against the Ireland cricket team. The ODI matches formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

The Bangladesh cricket team are scheduled to tour the West Indies in November and December 2024 to play the West Indies cricket team. The tour will consist of two Test, three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test series will form part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. In May 2024, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed the fixtures for the tour, as a part of the 2024–25 home international season.
