Baturaja is a town and the administrative capital of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency in South Sumatra, Indonesia. [2] It has an area of 235.27 square kilometres and had a population of 142,099 people at the 2020 Census; [3] the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 149,116. [1]
Baturaja is divided into 2 districts of the Regency:
South Sumatra is a province of Indonesia, located in the southeast of the island of Sumatra. The capital and largest city of the province is the city of Palembang. The province borders the provinces of Jambi to the north, Bengkulu to the west and Lampung to the south, as well a maritime border with the Bangka Belitung Islands to the east. It is the largest province in the island of Sumatra, and it is slightly smaller than Portugal, the department of Boquerón in Paraguay or the U.S. state of Maine. The Bangka Strait in the east separates South Sumatra and the island of Bangka, which is part of the Bangka Belitung Islands province. The province has an area of 91,592.43 km2 (35,364 sq mi) and had a population of 8,467,432 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid-2023 was 8,743,522. The province is rich in natural resources, such as petroleum, natural gas and coal. The province is inhabited by many different malay sub ethnic groups, with Palembangese being largest ethnic group. Most speak the Palembang language, which is mutually intelligible to both Indonesian and local Palembang Malay. Other ethnic groups include the Javanese, Sundanese, Minangkabau and Chinese. Most are concentrated in urban areas and are largely immigrants from other parts of Indonesia.
Barito Kuala Regency is one of the regencies (kabupaten) in the Indonesian province of South Kalimantan. It is situated in the southwest of the province, bordering Central Kalimantan province to its immediate west and separated from Banjarmasin city to its east by the lower reaches of the Barito River. The regency's land area is 2,996.46 km2, and the population was 276,147 at the 2010 Census and 313,021 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate was 324,502. The capital is the town of Marabahan. The Motto of the Regency is "Selidah".
Rejang Lebong is a regency of Bengkulu Province, Indonesia, on the island of Sumatra. This regency originally included a much larger part of the inland part of the province, lying to the east of the watershed of the Barisan Mountains, but on 25 February 2003 it was divided in three, with districts in the northwest being split off to form a separate Lebong Regency, and districts in the south being similarly split off to form a new Kepahiang Regency.
Lahat Regency is a regency of South Sumatra province, Indonesia. It originally included much of the southwestern part of the province, but on 21 June 2001 the town of Pagar Alam was removed from the regency to become an independent city, and on 2 January 2007 the western districts were split off to form the new Empat Lawang Regency. The reduced regency now covers a total area of 4,361.84 km2 and had a population of 369,974 at the 2010 Census and 430,071 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 438,238. The city of Pagar Alam remains an enclave within the regency, but is administratively separate.
West Kutai Regency is a regency (kabupaten) in the Indonesian province of East Kalimantan. It previously covered a much greater area, with a population of 165,091 at the 2010 Census, but on 11 January 2013 the five northernmost districts were split off to form a new Mahakam Ulu Regency; the residual area of West Kutai Regency is 20,384.6 km2, and it had a population of 140,097 at the 2010 Census, and 165,938 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 177,007. The town of Sendawar is the administrative capital.
East Tanjung Jabung Regency is a regency of Jambi Province, Indonesia. It is located on the island of Sumatra. The regency was created on 4 October 1999 by the division of the then Tanjung Jabung Regency into eastern and western halves. It now has an area of 5,087.07 km2 and had a population of 205,272 at the 2010 census and 229,813 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 236,727. The regency's administrative capital lies at the town of Muara Sabak, a riverine port near the mouth of the Berbak River.
Banyuasin is a regency of South Sumatra Province in Indonesia. The Regency was formed on 10 April 2002 from the coastal and eastern areas formerly part of the Musi Banyuasin Regency. It takes its name from the main river which drains that area, the Banyuasin River. Pangkalan Balai is the regency seat. The regency borders Musi Banyuasin Regency, Jambi province and Bangka Strait to the north, Bangka Strait to the east, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, Muara Enim Regency, and the city of Palembang to the south, and Musi Banyuasin Regency to the west. It has an area of 12,551.15 km2 and had a population of 749,107 at the 2010 census and 836,914 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 850,022. Much of the regency is coastal lowland.
Musi Rawas Regency is a regency of South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Prior to 2013, it covered an area of 12,134.57 km2 and had a population of 524,919 at the 2010 Census; however on 10 June 2013 the northern half of the regency was split off to form a separate North Musi Rawas Regency. Previous to 2001, the Regency had also included the city of Lubuklinggau, which was split off to form an independent city outside the regency.
Ogan Komering Ilir Regency is a regency of South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. It takes its name from the Ogan River and the Komering River, which are the two main rivers that drain the area. The name Ilir means downstream. The administrative centre is the town of Kayu Agung. The regency borders Banyuasin Regency to the northwest, Bangka Strait, and the Java Sea to the east, Lampung Province to the south, and Palembang city, Ogan Ilir Regency, and East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency to the west.

It formerly covered an area of 10,408 km2 with a population of around 1,000,000 people; however on 18 December 2003 parts of this area were split off to form separate regencies of East Ogan Komering Ulu and South Ogan Komering Ulu; the residual regency area covers just 4,797.06 km2 and had a population of 324,045 at the 2010 Census and 367,603 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 383,608. The administrative centre is the town of Baturaja.
East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency is a regency of South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. It was created on 18 December 2003 from what had formerly been the eastern districts of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. It covers an area of 3,370 km2 and had a population of 609,982 at the 2010 Census and 649,853 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 684,560. The regency seat is the town of Martapura. It borders Ogan Ilir Regency to the north, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency to the west, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in the east and Lampung Province and South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency in the south.
South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency is an inland regency in the far south of South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. It was created on 18 December 2003 from what had previously been the southernmost districts of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. It covers an area of 5,493.94 km2, and had a population of 318,428 at the 2010 Census and 408,981 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 407,676. The administrative centre is the town of Muaradua. It borders Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency and Muara Enim Regency to the north. It also borders Lampung Province to the south and east and Bengkulu Province to the west.
Central Lampung Regency is a regency of the province of Lampung, on Sumatra, Indonesia. On 20 April 1999, two areas were separated from the original regency - the southeastern portion was split off to form a separate East Lampung Regency, while the town of Metro was created as an independent city. The reduced regency has an area of 4,559.57 km2 and had a population of 1,170,048 people at the 2010 census and 1,460,045 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 1,508,331. The regency seat is the town of Gunung Sugih.
Mahakam Ulu Regency is a regency (kabupaten) in the province of East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As the name implies, it comprises the upper valley of the Mahakam River. It covers an area of 18,427.81 km2. The regency was established on 14 December 2012, formed from the former northern districts of West Kutai Regency. The districts now forming the regency held a combined population of 24,994 at the 2010 Census; the population for the new regency at the 2020 Census was 32,513; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 38,498. The administrative capital is at Ujoh Bilang, which had 3,527 inhabitants as at mid 2022. It is the only regency in East Kalimantan to share an international land border with the Malaysian state of Sarawak.
The Palembang metropolitan area, known locally as Patungraya Agung, is a metropolitan area in South Sumatra, Indonesia. It encompasses Palembang as the core city and parts of the three surrounding regencies: Banyuasin Regency, Ogan Ilir Regency, and Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. It is the second-largest metropolitan area in Sumatra with an estimated population of over 2.7 million.
Kayu Agung is a town and the capital of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in South Sumatra province of Indonesia. Its population was 62,694 at the 2010 Census and 75,976 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 77,970.
Martapura is a town and administrative district (kecamatan) in East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, of South Sumatra province of Indonesia and it is the seat (capital) of East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The district covers an area of 102.16 km2 and had a population of 59,280 according to the official estimate for mid 2023.
Muaradua, or usually spelled as Muara Dua, is a town and administrative district (kecamatan) in South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, of South Sumatra province of Indonesia and it is the seat (capital) of South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency.
