Bee (in Piemontese Bé) is a commune of 623 inhabitants [1] in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont. It is situated above the western shore of Lago Maggiore and is about 120 kilometres (75 mi) northeast of Turin and about 5 kilometres (3 mi) northeast of Verbania.
Piedmontese is a Romance language spoken by some 700,000 people mostly in Piedmont, northwestern region of Italy. It is geographically and linguistically included in the Gallo-Italic languages group of Northern Italy. It is part of the wider western group of Romance languages, which also includes French, Occitan, and Catalan. It is spoken in Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy.
The comune is a basic administrative division in Italy, roughly equivalent to a township or municipality.
Verbano-Cusio-Ossola is the northernmost province in the Italian region of Piedmont. It was created in 1992 through the fusion of three geographical regions which had previously been part of the Province of Novara. The area flanking the western shore of Verbano forms the eastern part of the province; Cusio and its environs form the southern part; while the north and west of the province consists of the Ossola, a region of Alpine mountains and valleys. The ISO code for the province is VB.

The commune extends over an area of about 3.3 square kilometres (1.3 sq mi) and includes two small frazione : Pian Nava lies above the principal settlement, while Albagnano is on the opposite side of the valley. There is also the residential village of Montelago.
"Frazione" is the Italian name given in administrative law to a type of territorial subdivision of a comune; for other administrative divisions, see municipio, circoscrizione, quartiere. It is cognate to the English word fraction, but in practice is roughly equivalent to "parishes" or "wards" in other countries.
