Bergen Place is a small, triangle-shaped public park in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, in the U.S. state of Washington. Named after Bergen, Norway (one of Seattle's sister cities), the square is lined with benches and trees and features sculptures. [1] [2]
The park was inaugurated by King Olaf V in 1975. [3] [4] It was redesigned in 2004. [5] The park has also displayed a large menorah to commemorate Hanukkah. [6]
A 1995 mural, created with support from the Ballard Historical Society, was vandalized in 2009. [7]
Ballard is a neighborhood in the northwestern area of Seattle, Washington, United States. Formerly an independent city, the City of Seattle's official boundaries define it as bounded to the north by Crown Hill, to the east by Greenwood, Phinney Ridge and Fremont, to the south by the Lake Washington Ship Canal, and to the west by Puget Sound's Shilshole Bay. The Ballard Carnegie Library is a historic Carnegie library in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. The institution was preceded by a freeholders' library in the 1860s, which was eventually replaced in 1901 by a reading room organized and funded by a women's group. Various funds including a $15,000 grant were used to create a new library for Ballard, then an independent city. The library opened to the public on June 24, 1904. It was the first major branch of the Seattle public library system after Ballard was annexed by Seattle in 1907, and also employed one of the first African American librarians in Seattle.

A statue of Leif Erikson is installed at Seattle's Shilshole Bay Marina, in the U.S. state of Washington. The 16-foot tall sculpture was donated by the Leif Erikson League for the Century 21 Exposition. It was relocated to Shilshole Marina in 2007. According to Lonely Planet, the statue is surrounded by a stone circle and serves as "an important reminder of Seattle's Nordic heritage".
