Bhuswargo Bhayankar is a short novel by Satyajit Ray featuring the private detective Feluda, published in 1987.
In this case, Feluda, Topshe and Jatayu go to Srinagar and Kashmir where they come across a spine chilling mystery. They meet a retired judge, Siddheshwar Mallick, and his group who have also come for a holiday. They travel together to Gulmarg, Khilanmarg and Pahalgam. The judge has given death sentence to many convicts in a career spanning three decades and wants to find out whether he had made a mistake in doing so by calling the spirits of those convicts by planchette. The judge suffers from angina due to which he had to voluntarily retire at the age of 65 and he has a son, who is addicted to gambling. He finds out that he had misjudged two of his cases, one of a Bihari and another of a Kashmiri. In the meanwhile, there are life attempts on the judge's son Vijay and on Feluda twice. Soon after, during Pahalgam visit, the judge gets murdered and a precious diamond ring worn on his right hand gets stolen. Feluda reveals that the life attempt on Vijay was by the judge's bearer, Prayag, who is revealed to be the father of one of the innocent convicts and the murder was committed by two people, the judge's son Vijay who had huge debts upon him, and one of the people who had joined the holidaying group, who is revealed to be the son of Manohar Sapru, another one of the innocent convicts.

Judging Amy is an American legal drama television series that was telecast from September 19, 1999, through May 3, 2005, on CBS. This TV series starred Amy Brenneman and Tyne Daly. Its main character (Brenneman) is a judge who serves in a family court for the Connecticut Superior Court's Hartford district; in addition to the family-related cases that she adjudicates, many episodes focus on her experiences as a divorced mother and on the experiences of her mother, a social worker in the field of child welfare. This series was based on the life experiences of Brenneman's mother.
A miscarriage of justice occurs when an unfair outcome occurs in a criminal or civil proceeding, such as the conviction and punishment of a person for a crime they did not commit. Miscarriages are also known as wrongful convictions. Innocent people have sometimes ended up in prison for years before their conviction has eventually been overturned. They may be exonerated if new evidence comes to light or it is determined that the police or prosecutor committed some kind of misconduct at the original trial. Joy Baba Felunath is a 1979 Indian Bengali-language mystery film directed and written by Satyajit Ray. Featuring an ensemble cast of Soumitra Chatterjee, Santosh Dutta, Siddartha Chatterjee, Utpal Dutt amongst others, it is an adaption of the eponymous Feluda novel and serves as the sequel of Sonar Kella. Shortly after the demise of actor Santosh Dutta who portrayed Jatayu's role, Ray remarked that it was impossible to ever make a Feluda film again without Dutta.
Anjaam (transl. Consequence) is a 1994 Indian Hindi-language romantic psychological thriller film directed by Rahul Rawail. It stars Madhuri Dixit and Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles with an ensemble supporting cast, while Deepak Tijori in a guest appearance. This was the first time that Dixit and Khan were paired together. The film's music was composed by Anand–Milind, with lyrics written by Sameer. The film is about a woman facing the brunt of her obsessive lover. It also focuses on the atrocities committed against women. Dixit plays the protagonist and Khan plays the antagonist.
Ronald Clark O'Bryan, nicknamed The Candy Man and The Man Who Killed Halloween, was an American man convicted of killing his eight-year-old son Timothy on Halloween 1974 with a potassium cyanide-laced Pixy Stix that was ostensibly collected during a trick or treat outing. O'Bryan poisoned his son in order to claim life insurance money to ease his own financial troubles, as he was $100,000 in debt. O'Bryan also distributed poisoned candy to his daughter and three other children in an attempt to cover up his crime; however, neither his daughter nor the other children ate the poisoned candy. He was convicted of capital murder in June 1975 and sentenced to death. He was executed by lethal injection in March 1984.
Bombaiyer Bombete is a 2003 Indian Bengali thriller film directed by Sandip Ray and based on the story of the same name by his father Satyajit Ray. It was the third big screen adaptation of the fictional detective character Feluda after 25 years of the second Feluda movie Joi Baba Felunath (1979), which was directed by Satyajit Ray. It was the first big screen adaptation of the Feluda new film series though Sabyasachi played Feluda in all the ten TV films of Feluda TV film series (1996-2000) directed by Sandip Ray. The movie was a sequel to the Doctor Munshir Diary, the last television film of Feluda TV film series (1996-2000), which was a sequel series to the Satyajit Ray's Feluda film series (1974-1979).

Kanoon is a 1960 Indian Hindi-language courtroom drama film directed by B. R. Chopra. The film stars Rajendra Kumar, Nanda, Ashok Kumar, Mehmood, Shashikala, Jeevan and Om Prakash. Considered to be one of the greatest films in the history of Indian cinema, it went on to win four Filmfare Awards, for Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Sound Editing, and Best Actor for Kumar. It's inspired from Tamil film Thangappathakkam.
Shahenshah (transl. Emperor) is a 1988 Indian Hindi-language vigilante action film starring Amitabh Bachchan in the title role, along with Meenakshi Sheshadri and Praan and Amrish Puri and Prem Chopra. The film was produced and directed by Tinnu Anand. The story was written by Jaya Bachchan, while the script was written by Inder Raj Anand, who died before the film was released.

Souryam (transl. Bravery) is a 2008 Indian Telugu-language action film produced by V. Anand Prasad on Bhavya Creations banner and directed by cinematographer Siva, who made his directorial debut. It stars Gopichand, Anushka Shetty, Poonam Kaur and Manoj K. Jayan along with Ajay, Ali, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Sudha, Tanikella Bharani and M. S. Narayana in the pivotal roles, the music was composed by Mani Sharma. The film was released theatrically on 25 September 2008. It was remade in Kannada-language as Shourya, into Dhallywood as Mone Boro Koshto and in Tamil-language by Prabhu Deva as Vedi. The film was later dubbed in Malayalam and Hindi as Shouryam and Meri Shapath and released in 2009.Film Was a Super Hit

Michael Morton is an American who was wrongfully convicted in 1987 in a Williamson County, Texas court of the 1986 murder of his wife Christine Morton. He spent nearly 25 years in prison before he was exonerated by DNA evidence which supported his claim of innocence and pointed to the crime being committed by another individual. Morton was released from prison on October 4, 2011, and another man, Mark Alan Norwood, was convicted of the murder in 2013. The prosecutor in the case, Ken Anderson, was convicted of contempt of court for withholding evidence after the judge had ordered its release to the defense.
The innocent prisoner's dilemma, or parole deal, is a detrimental effect of a legal system in which admission of guilt can result in reduced sentences or early parole. When an innocent person is wrongly convicted of a crime, legal systems which need the individual to admit guilt — as, for example, a prerequisite step leading to parole — punish an innocent person for their integrity, and reward a person lacking in integrity. There have been cases where innocent prisoners were given the choice between freedom, in exchange for claiming guilt, and remaining imprisoned and telling the truth.
