Blundon Corner is a populated place and locale in Northumberland County, in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is located at the intersection of VA-695 and VA-640. It appears as a location on Virginia DOT county maps. [1] The road to Edwardsville was constructed in the 1910s. [2]
Blundon's Corner is the site of "Arcadia", the Blundon family home. The first structure on the site was built in 1793 by John Doxey. The current house was built in 1811 with a Greek revival portico. [3] The Blundons purchased it in 1878 when it was known as Pleasant View and expanded it substantially in 1890. It was the family home into the late 1940s, but then fell into disrepair, before being rescued in the 1970s. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

The Lancaster VA Historical Society/Mary Ball Washington Museum and Library is a museum and historical archive in the Northern Neck of The Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, United States. Its purpose is to preserve the history of Lancaster County, Virginia. It opened in 1958 and was named in honor of George Washington's mother, Mary Ball, a Lancaster County, Virginia native and granddaughter of the ca 1653 emigrant, William Ball I.
The Northern Neck Proprietary – also called the Northern Neck land grant, Fairfax Proprietary, or Fairfax Grant – was a land grant first contrived by the exiled English King Charles II in 1649 and encompassing all the lands bounded by the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers in colonial Virginia. This constituted up to 5,000,000 acres (20,000 km2) of Virginia's Northern Neck and a vast area northwest of it.

Rappahannock Community College (RCC) is a public community college with two campuses in Virginia, one in Glenns and the other in Warsaw. There are three off-campus sites — one in Kilmarnock, one in King George, one in New Kent County. The institution is one of the twenty-three colleges in the Virginia Community College System. It mostly serves students living on the Middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck, but it also has students from other parts of Virginia. RCC offers associate degrees, certificates, career studies certificates, dual enrollment credit, non-credit programs, lifelong learning credits, and programs for incarcerated students.
Colonel John Tayloe II was a planter and politician, among the richest planters in colonial Virginia. He served in public office including the Virginia Governor's Council, also known as the Virginia Council of State.
Moss Neck Manor is a historic, antebellum plantation house located at Rappahannock Academy, Caroline County, Virginia. It was completed in 1856, and consists of a two-story central section, long hyphens, and pedimented terminal wings. It is in the Greek Revival style. It features colonnaded verandahs with Doric order columns, a two-level portico, and octagonal cupola. The house, built by people enslaved by James Corbin Sr., measures 225 feet long.
Benjamin Deyerle (1806–1883) was an architect, artist and brickmaker in Roanoke County, Virginia. Many of the historic homes, churches and public buildings in Roanoke were designed and built under his and his family's direction. He is credited with building 23 of them, and perhaps more. Some of these homes and buildings are currently listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register.
