The Socialist Party is a democratic socialist and social democratic political party in the Netherlands. Founded in 1971 as the Communist Party of the Netherlands/Marxist–Leninist, the party has since moderated itself from Marxism–Leninism and Maoism towards democratic socialism and social democracy.
Erik Meijer is a former Dutch politician who was a member of the European Parliament for the Dutch Socialist Party, part of the European Left, between 1999 and 2009. From July 2014 till June 2015 he was a member of the Dutch Senate.
Joël Stephanus Voordewind is a Dutch politician and former development aid worker. As a member of the Christian Union (ChristenUnie) he was an MP from 2006 until 2021. He focused on matters of foreign policy, defense, development aid, youth and family. Since 7 July 2022, he has been an alderman of Alkmaar.
Emile Gerardus Maria Roemer is a Dutch politician serving as King's Commissioner of Limburg since December 2021. A member of the Socialist Party (SP), he was its leader and parliamentary leader in the House of Representatives from 5 March 2010 until 13 December 2017. Roemer served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2006 until 2018, as acting Mayor of Heerlen from 2018 to 2020, and as acting mayor of Alkmaar from 2020 to 2021.

Previously Mineur was municipal councillor in De Bilt (2006–2012) and member of the States of Utrecht (2011–2014).
Christine Teunissen is a Dutch politician of the Party for the Animals. Since 24 March 2014 she has been a member of the municipal council of The Hague, and since 9 June 2015 she has also been a member of the Senate. She was the youngest one of that Senate session. In the senate elections of May 2019 she was reelected as a senate member.
Frank P. Wassenberg is a Dutch politician. He was a member of the House of Representatives for the Party for the Animals between November 2016 and October 2017 and between March 2017 and December 2023. He was the temporary replacement Esther Ouwehand in the former. He serves in the States of Limburg since the 2015 elections, and previously served between 2007 and 2011.

He has been serving as Minister of Education, Culture and Science in the Schoof cabinet since July 2024 on behalf of New Social Contract (NSC). He was a member of the House of Representatives for the Christian Union (CU) from 2015 to 2021.

Before he became a senator, Raven had been active in Sittard-Geleen politics as a municipal councilor and alderman since 1990, representing the local parties Stadspartij Burgerbelangen Geleen and Stadspartij.
