The Bugis Museum (Malay : Muzium Bugis), formerly known as the Bugis Heritage is a museum established in 1982 dedicated to the Bugis people in Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia. [1] It is the first Bugis museum in Malaysia and there are around 2,000 artifacts displayed inside, such as weapons, clothes, old coins, jewellery and pictures. [2] [3]

The Duano' are an indigenous people of Malaysia and Indonesia and can be found in islands along the northeastern region of Sumatra, Indonesia where most Duano' people have traditionally lived. They are one of the Proto-Malay group of cultures. Due to their nomadic boat lifestyle, based almost exclusively on fishing and collecting shellfish and crustaceans by using mud-boards, Duano' people are often categorized as Orang Laut, a group that includes the Urak Lawoi’ people and Moken people of the northern region of the Malacca Strait and the Andaman Sea. Although there are similarities in their way of life, they are a separate ethnic group. Citing their own language, culture, identity, and economic complexities, they deny being Orang Laut.

Datuk Seri Salahuddin bin Ayub is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022 and Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry in the PH administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from May 2018 to his resignation and the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. He has also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pulai since May 2018 and for Kubang Kerian from March 2004 to May 2013 as well as Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Simpang Jeram since May 2018. He has served as the 1st and founding Deputy President of AMANAH since September 2015 and State Chairman of PH of Johor since September 2022.He was previously a member, Youth Chief and Vice-President of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a former component party of the former Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Alternatif (BA) opposition coalitions. But he together with a few other progressive leaders led by Mohamad referred as G18 were ousted during the 2015 PAS Muktamar which had launched Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) and founded AMANAH.

He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He has also served as State Deputy Chairman of UMNO of Johor and Division Chief of UMNO of Pontian since March 2023. He also served as the Secretary-General of UMNO from March 2020 to March 2023 and also of BN from January 2021 to June 2021 as well as Division Deputy Chief of UMNO of Pontian from 2008 to his promotion to the division chief in March 2023.
