Bde Maka Ska is the largest lake in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, and part of the city's Chain of Lakes. Surrounded by city park land and circled by bike and walking trails, it is popular for many outdoor activities. The lake has an area of 401 acres (1.62 km2) and a maximum depth of 87 feet (27 m).
Uptown is a commercial district in southwestern Minneapolis in the U.S. state of Minnesota, that is centered at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and West Lake Street. It has traditionally spanned the corners of four neighborhoods, Lowry Hill East, East Bde Maka Ska, South Uptown and East Isles neighborhoods, which are all within the Calhoun Isles community. Historically, the boundaries of Uptown are Bde Maka Ska to the west, Dupont Avenue to the east, 31st Street to the south, and 28th Street to the north; though these borders often vary. Uptown is a popular destination for retail, nightlife, and cultural events, and the district was famously written about by recording artist Prince.
Lowry Hill East, also known as the Wedge, is a neighborhood in southwest Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, part of the Calhoun Isles community. Lowry Hill East developed in the 1880s along a horse-drawn streetcar line built by Thomas Lowry. The interior of the neighborhood is residential, with large early 20th century homes and multi-unit apartment buildings, while the border streets are lined with bars, restaurants, grocery stores, coffeeshops, and other small businesses. Most housing is renter-occupied.
Dubai Marina, aka Marsa Dubai, is a district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is an artificial canal city built along a 3-kilometre (2 mi) stretch of the Persian Gulf shoreline. As of 2018, it has a population of 55,052. When the entire development is complete, it will accommodate more than 120,000 people in residential towers and villas. It is located on Interchange 5 between Jebel Ali Port and the area which hosts Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and the American University in Dubai. The first phase of this project has been completed. Dubai Marina was inspired by the Concord Pacific Place development along False Creek in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Lake Harriet is a lake in southwest Minneapolis, south of Bde Maka Ska and north of Minnehaha Creek. The lake is surrounded by parkland as part of Minneapolis’ Chain of Lakes. The lake has an area of 335 acres (1.36 km2) and a maximum depth of 85 feet (26 m).
Calhoun-Isles is one of the official communities in the U.S. city of Minneapolis. It contains the Uptown business district and the name "Uptown" is frequently used to refer to the entire community. The name of the community refers to its most prominent physical features, the large and publicly accessible lakes, Bde Maka Ska and Lake of the Isles.
East Bde Maka Ska is a neighborhood within the Calhoun-Isles community in the U.S. city of Minneapolis. It was formerly known as East Calhoun prior to August 2021. The neighborhood is located south of the East Isles neighborhood and its northern portion along with parts of the East Isles, Lowry Hill East, and South Uptown neighborhoods forms the city's Uptown district. East Bde Maka Ska is bordered on the north by Lake Street, on the east by Hennepin Avenue, on the south by West 36th Street and on the west by Bde Maka Ska.
South Uptown is a residential neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2018, the neighborhood voted to change its name to South Uptown from its former name CARAG. Other potential names for the neighborhood included "Bryant Park" and "Bryant Square". The Minneapolis City Council approved the name change in November 2018.
West Maka Ska, formerly known as West Calhoun, is a neighborhood in the U.S. city of Minneapolis. The neighborhood was general rural with a couple grain silos along the railroad track heading into Downtown Minneapolis until about the 1910s. Although the railroad still runs through the neighborhood, the neighborhood is now mainly homes, apartment buildings, and strip malls.

Its boundaries are the Kenilworth Lagoon and Lake of the Isles to the north and east, West Lake Street to the south, and France Avenue South to the west. Nearby neighborhoods include Bryn Mawr and Kenwood to the north, East Isles to the east, East Bde Maka Ska to the southwest, and West Maka Ska to the south. To the west is the suburb of Saint Louis Park. The neighborhood, one of the most affluent in the city, takes its name from Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles, and Dean Parkway.

The Gideon H. Pond House is a historic house in Bloomington, Minnesota, United States. It is part of the Pond-Dakota Mission Park, which also includes the Oak Grove Mission site (1843–1852), a cemetery, and the remains of the Pond family farm and orchards. The site is significant within the history of the Minnesota River valley, the Dakota tribe, and Bloomington. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Loren L. Chadwick Cottages are two cottages in the Linden Hills neighborhood of in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, situated roughly south of Bde Maka Ska and northwest of Lake Harriet. This area of Minneapolis was platted in 1882-83 as "Cottage City" by a local real estate developer, Louis F. Menage. He platted small 25 feet (7.6 m)-wide lots, as opposed to the normal lot width of 40 feet (12 m), in an effort to attract people who wanted to build summer lake cottages.
Indian Village Is the nickname given to the southeast portion of the Kenwood community area of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is roughly bounded by Lake Shore Drive to the east Burnham Park to the north, 51st Street to the south, Harold Washington Park to the southeast, and the Illinois Central Railroad tracks used by the Metra's South Shore and Metra Electric Lines to the West. Many of the buildings in the neighborhood are named after Native American Indian tribes including the National Register of Historic Places-designated (NRHP) Narragansett and the Chicago Landmark Powhatan Apartments. Other buildings include several Algonquin Apartment buildings and the Chippewa.
