Cape Roger Harbour (sometimes known as Cape Roger) is a tiny abandoned town located near St. Joseph's, Placentia Bay in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada that had a tiny population of 4 in 1845. [1] Despite only being sparsely inhabited, the harbour has been used since the early 19th century for the fishery, particularly that of the herring and salmon fishery. [2] [3]
Located on the western side of Placentia Bay, Cape Roger Harbour is within Cape Roger Bay which lies between St. Joseph's, Placentia Bay and Port Anne. Cape Roger Harbour, which is protected from the elements by Harbour Island, is bounded by water spouts that rush through the sandy loam that lies on the beach area. They can consistently rise above 10 feet over sea level. [4]
It is a popular belief that buried treasure is located within Cape Roger Harbour, however all attempts to unearth it have failed. [5]

Rencontre East is a small, outport community in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada located north east of Belleoram, and west of Terrenceville in Fortune Bay. The population was 115 in the 2021 census. This small community is not connected to any surrounding areas by road but is accessible by scheduled ferry service from ports in Pool's Cove and Bay L'Argent.

Lodge Bay is a local service district and designated place in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is on the southeast coast of Labrador. Encompassing a population of less than one hundred residents, the community has uniquely evolved from both early European colonization of Labrador, and the inimitable patterns of land and resource use by the migratory Inuit population. The name Lodge Bay originated from the title Ranger Lodge, which was the name given to the area by trader and explorer, Captain George Cartwright in the late 18th century. "Ranger" was the name of the wooden-mercantile ship Cartwright used to trade, map and explore the Labrador coast, while "Lodge" was the name given to English hunting camps in Great Britain at that time.
Long Island is a long narrow island located in the inner portion of Placentia Bay. The longest axis of the island lies in a north-south direction. It is approximately 24 kilometres long and just over 3 kilometres at its widest point. Long Island along with Merasheen Island and Red Island make up the majority of the islands in Placentia Bay. Long Island is located approximately 22 kilometres northwest of Argentia. It is separated from Merasheen Island to the west by a 24 kilometre long channel that narrows to within 2.12 kilometres. Red Island is approximately 10 kilometres to the southwest of Long Island.
Iona was a small community in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador made up of small islands that used to be inhabited. The islands were once called The Ram's or Ram's Islands.
