Baine Harbour is a Canadian community in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador northeast of Marystown.

History

In 1911 it had one store, one church and one hotel. The way office was established in 1883. The first way master was Lemuel Roberts. The first postmaster was W. Rodway in 1949. It was incorporated as a "government community" in 1970.

Garden Cove has hiking trails passing by Big Rock Hill and Placentiamans Point. There is an inshore fishery operating there. Some species caught are lobster, cod, mackerel, herring, crab, scallops, mussels, flounder and trout. Late in summer Tuna chase bill fish just off shore.

Garnish, a town located on the west coast of the Burin Peninsula, was well known for its lumbering and now for its lobstering operations. Located on Route 213, it is 25 km along route 220 north west of Grand Bank and 18 km along Route 220 east of Marystown. The Way Office was established in 1852 and the first Waymaster was Henry Campe. In 2021, the town had a population of 542.

Gaultois is a small settlement in the Coast of Bays area in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Gaultois had a population of 100 people in the 2021 census. The town has a K-12 school called Victoria Academy, as well as a fire department, public library, Lion's Club, and town hall. The town is only accessible by ferry or helicopter. The provincial government ferry runs from the nearby town of Hermitage several times daily and the crossing takes approximately 20 minutes. This ferry also services the more remote community of McCallum once to twice daily with a crossing time of around one hour and fifteen minutes. In 2015, Gaultois voted against resettlement. Gaultois considered resettlement again in 2023 but it failed.
