Carmarthenshire Cheese Company Ltd ( Welsh: Cwmni Caws Caerfyrddin Cyf) is a cheese company based in Llanllwch, Carmarthen. The company was founded in 2006 by co-owners Steve and Sian Elin Peace. Some of its main brands include Pont Gâr, Llangloffan, and Boksburg.
Since the launch in 2006, the cheese has been manufactured in a facility nestled in the heart of milk producing West Wales. In 2006 the company acquired the Llangloffan cheese brand on the retirement of Leon Downey. This original artisan brand had been made since the 1970s in Pembrokeshire, and continues to be handmade to the same original recipe today. The company also produces a range of softer, mould ripened, speciality cheeses such as Pont Gâr and Boksburg which are sold in supermarkets, speciality distributors and wholesalers throughout Wales and the United Kingdom. In June 2018, it was announced that the Carmarthenshire Cheese Company went into liquidation. [1]

At the start of the 20th century, competition for milk in the local area saw production decline, and Caerphilly production was gradually relocated to England.
Cambozola is a cow's milk cheese that is a combination in style of a French soft-ripened triple cream cheese and Italian Gorgonzola.
Gloucester is a traditional, semi-hard cheese which has been made in Gloucestershire, England, since the 16th century. There are two varieties of the cheese, Single and Double; both are traditionally made from milk from Gloucester cattle. Both types have a natural rind and a hard texture, but Single Gloucester is more crumbly, lighter in texture and lower in fat. Double Gloucester is allowed to age for longer periods than Single, and it has a stronger and more savoury flavour. It is also slightly firmer. The flower known as Lady's Bedstraw, was responsible for the distinctively yellow colour of Double Gloucester Cheese.
Ardrahan Farmhouse Cheese creates two varieties of cheese. They originate from Ardrahan Farmhouse, Kanturk, County Cork in Ireland. The two varieties are Ardrahan and Duhallow. Eugene and Mary Burns first made Ardrahan cheese on their farm in County Cork in 1983 using traditional techniques. Both varieties are made entirely from the milk of the Burns' cow herd, which is composed of Friesian cows.
Pantysgawn, also known as Pant-Ysgawn, is a brand of goat cheese produced in Blaenavon, Wales. It was the first cheese produced by Pam and Tony Craske at Pant-Ys-Gawn Farm in Wales, and its success resulted in the couple founding the Abergavenny Fine Foods Company. It is now produced in Blaenavon by the Craske family from locally produced goat's curd from Soil Association certified farms.
Corleggy Cheeses is an Irish cheese producer in County Cavan. It was started by Silke Cropp in 1985 using milk from her own goat herd. Today Corleggy make a variety of different cheese from goat's milk, sheep's milk and cow's milk sourced from local farmers.
Felindre Farchog is a small village in the community of Nevern in Pembrokeshire, Wales, located around 7 miles (11 km) south-west of Cardigan, and within the parish of Bayvil. The A487 road from Cardigan to Newport runs through the village.

Carrigaline Farmhouse Cheese is a maker of semi-soft cheese made from cow's milk in Carrigaline, County Cork in Ireland. Pat and Anne O'Farrell have produced their cheeses on their farm in County Cork since 1988 using milk from their Friesian cow herd. Today, the O'Farrell family business has grown into a leading producer of artisan cheese found across all Irish retailers and beyond. The naturally smoked cheese has received numerous accolades in various international cheese awards.
Fivemiletown Creamery is based in Fivemiletown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, and is a producer of handmade speciality soft cheeses and cheddars The company is a farmers' co-operative, and employs around 40 people. The creamery draws its milk supplies mostly from over 60 dairy farmers from across Northern Ireland. The company was founded in 1898 and added cheese production in 1972. Fivemiletown Creamery is the only speciality cheese maker in Northern Ireland. In 2014 Fivemiletown Creamery was acquired by Dale Farm.
Granston is a hamlet and parish in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The parish was in the Hundred of Dewisland and includes the settlements of Llangloffan and Tregwynt, with Tregwynt woollen mill. Granston is in the community of Pencaer.
Oxford Blue is a variety and brand of blue cheese produced in Burford, Oxfordshire, England in 1995 by French baron Robert Pouget in the tradition of Stilton cheese but with a creamier consistency especially when the cheese was allowed to mature. It is a soft and creamy cheese that has tangy, aromatic and spicy qualities. By 2013, around five tonnes were produced monthly.
Pembrokeshire has been called "the cottage garden of Wales", due to its good soil and the beneficial effects of the Gulf Stream, which provide a mild climate and a longer growing season than other parts of the country. The good climate and soil meant that the south of the peninsula was coveted by the Norsemen and Normans because it had "great plentie" of corn and cattle The county has prime agricultural land, much of which is located at about 70m above sea level, while to the north, the Preseli Hills rise to 500m above sea level and form uplands that are made up of heather and bracken, which are used for grazing sheep. Consequently, Pembrokeshire is classed as one of the most fertile counties in Wales, with its 392,300 agricultural acres having 14% of its land classed as of good quality, 67% being classed as medium quality and 19% being classed as poor quality. However, agricultural production is subject to market forces and in the 1890s, as a result of the Panic of 1893, a deep agricultural depression led to the area under cultivation falling by a third. Many labourers and farmers had no option but to emigrate to the New World and many of the large farming estates were sold. World War I brought prosperity again, but by the 1930s, as a result of the Great Depression, there was another agricultural depression which lasted until World War II. During the Post-war period agriculture has benefited from marketing schemes and marketing boards, which have helped in the regulation, marketing and distribution of the county's agricultural production.
The coast of Ceredigion is made up of a long coastal plain that contains high cliffs, coves, large bays and estuaries. The coastal plain gets narrower towards the more mountainous north of the county and is cut by the wide estuaries of the Teifi and the Dyfi. The broad and fertile Teifi valley is ideal for dairy farming and mixed farming. Heavy rainfall washes the minerals out of the soil and results in the mountainous areas of the county having relatively poorer, acidic soils. The plough line can be as low as 700 feet, which restricts cultivation.
