Carmarthenshire County Council

Carmarthenshire County Council is the local council for the county of Carmarthenshire, Wales, providing a range of services under the control of elected county councillors that include education, planning, transport, social services and public safety. The council is one of twenty-two unitary authorities that came into existence on 1 April 1996 under the provisions of the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994. It took over local government functions previously provided by Carmarthen District, Dinefwr Borough, Llanelli Borough councils and the Carmarthenshire area of what was Dyfed County Council.

Green Party of England and Wales Political party in England and Wales

The Green Party of England and Wales is a green, left-wing political party in England and Wales. Headquartered in London, since September 2018, its co-leaders are Siân Berry and Jonathan Bartley. The Ontario Libertarian Party is a libertarian political party in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of five provincial parties in Ontario running enough candidates in 2018 to govern a majority. Founded in 1975 by Bruce Evoy, Vince Miller, and others, the party was inspired by the 1972 formation of the US Libertarian Party. The party is guided by a Statement of Principles and the philosophical ideas of Austrian School of Economics. It is influenced by authors and thinkers such as Jan Narveson and Murray Rothbard. The party's leader was Allen Small, who resigned in July 2018. Deputy Leader Rob Ferguson has taken over until the expected Convention in the Spring of 2019.

1995 United Kingdom local elections

The 1995 United Kingdom local elections took place on 4 May 1995. The Conservative Party lost over 2,000 councillors in the election, while the Labour Party won 48% of the vote, a record high for the party in local elections.

Bath and North East Somerset is a unitary authority in Somerset, England. It was created on 1 April 1996 replacing Bath, Wansdyke and Avon County Council.

Elections to Dacorum Borough Council in Hertfordshire, England were held on 6 May 1999. The election in Highfield St Paul was delayed after the death of a Conservative candidate until a by-election was held on 3 June. The whole council was up for election with boundary changes since the Dacorum Council election, 1995|last election in 1995 reducing the number of seats by 6. The Conservative party gained overall control of the council from no overall control, although it would fall back to no overall control after the by-election in June.

Elections to Manchester Council were held on Thursday, 4 May 1995. One third of the council was up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a four-year term of office, expiring in 1999. The Labour Party retained overall control of the Council.

The eighth full elections for Guildford Borough Council took place on 6 May 1999.

1995 Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council election

The 1995 Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council election took place on 4 May 1995 to elect members of Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council in Greater Manchester, England. One third of the council was up for election and the Labour party kept overall control of the council

Elections to Pembrokeshire County Council were held on 6 May 1999. It was preceded by the 1995 election and followed by the 2004 election. On the same day there were the first elections to the Welsh Assembly and elections to the other 21 local authorities in Wales and community councils in Wales.

Maharashtra Legislative Assembly

The Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha or the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Presently, 288 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from the single-seat constituencies and one member is nominated. The members of the upper house, the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad are indirectly elected through an electoral college.

The 1999 Castle Point Borough Council election took place on 6 May 1999 to elect members of Castle Point Borough Council in Essex, England. The whole council was up for election and the Labour party stayed in overall control of the council.

Elections to Liverpool City Council were held on 4 May 1995. One third of the council was up for election and although the election resulted in the continuation of no overall control, the Labour party continued to lead a minority administration.

The second elections to the City and County of Swansea Council were held in May 1999. It was preceded by the 1995 election and followed by the 2004 election.

1995 Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council election

The 1995 Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council election took place on 4 May 1995 to elect members of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council in England. This election was held on the same day as other local elections.
