The Centrist Party of Canada is a federal political party in Canada.
The party was founded in 2020 by neurologist Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rana. [1] It was registered with Elections Canada on August 25, 2021, shortly before the 2021 Canadian federal election. [2]
The party contested four seats in the 2021 election. Three candidates were in Toronto (Scarborough-Guildwood, Scarborough North, and Don Valley West), and one was in Calgary Skyview. [3]
The party also had a candidate in the 2023 Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount federal by-election, earning 2.35% of the vote. [4]
In the 2021 election, the party advocated for government transparency, deployment of LNG in British Columbia, and increasing the age limit for the recreational use of marijuana. [1]
