The Champion Stakes is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Romford Greyhound Stadium in East London, England. [1]
It was inaugurated at Wimbledon Stadium in 1929. [2] However, in 1973 the event was discontinued [3] until Romford resurrected it as an open event in 1988. [4] In 2022, the first prize increased to £20,000 following sponsorship from Premier Greyhound Racing (the collaboration between the Arena Racing Company and Entain. [5]

Romford Greyhound Stadium, referred to as Coral Romford Greyhound Stadium is a greyhound racing track located in Romford town centre in the London Borough of Havering in east London which is owned and operated by the Ladbrokes Coral group. The stadium has a capacity for over 1,700 people.
Newcastle Stadium is a greyhound racing and former motorcycle speedway stadium, located on The Fossway, Byker, Newcastle. Racing at the stadium takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The circumference of the greyhound track is 415 metres. From 1929 until mid-2022, speedway racing took place at the stadium.
The Cesarewitch is a greyhound racing competition held at Central Park Stadium. It was originally one of the classic races held in the British racing calendar and was inaugurated in 1928 and held at West Ham Stadium until its closure in 1972.
The St Leger is an original classic greyhound competition.
The Laurels is an original classic greyhound competition held at Perry Barr Stadium. It was run at Wimbledon Stadium from 1930 until 1997. It then moved to Belle Vue Stadium in 1998 and remained there until 2017 when it switched to Newcastle Stadium. After two years at Newcastle and a cancellation in 2020 due to COVID-19 it switched to Perry Barr in 2021.
The Select Stakes is a greyhound competition held at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium. It was run at Wembley Stadium from 1952 until 1996. When the Wembley Greyhounds ended, it moved to Nottingham in 1997. This was after the closure of the greyhounds at Wembley.
The Arc was a greyhound racing competition held at Swindon Stadium. It was inaugurated in 1987 at Walthamstow Stadium but when the track closed in 2008 the event switched to Swindon.
The Regency is a greyhound competition held at Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium. It was inaugurated in 1948 and was originally a competition for British Bred Greyhounds only before switching to all-comers. The event originally called the Regency Produce Stakes immediately attracted interest with 161 British Bred litters in the first year and over 200 litters in the 1949 edition and has remained a significant event.
The All England Cup is a greyhound racing competition held annually. It was inaugurated in 1938 at Brough Park later known as Newcastle and replaced the Northumberland Stakes as the primary event at the stadium.
The British Bred Produce Stakes is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Swindon Stadium.
The Eclipse is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium.
The Champion Hurdle is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Crayford Stadium. Until 2017 it was held at Wimbledon Stadium but switched to Towcester Greyhound Stadium following the closure of Wimbledon.
The Coronation Cup is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Romford Greyhound Stadium.
The Romford Puppy Cup is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Romford Greyhound Stadium.
The National Produce Stakes is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Clonmel Greyhound Stadium in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland.
The Champion Stakes is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Shelbourne Park in Ringsend, Dublin, Ireland.
The 2016 UK & Ireland Greyhound Racing Year was the 91st year of greyhound racing in the United Kingdom and Ireland and commenced with the category 2 Coronation Cup at Romford Greyhound Stadium which was shown live on Sky Sports. The final event was the Olympic at Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium.

The Guys and Dolls is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Crayford Stadium.
