The Champion Stakes is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Romford Greyhound Stadium in East London, England. [1]

Contents

It was inaugurated at Wimbledon Stadium. [2] However, in 1973 the event was discontinued [3] until Romford resurrected it in 1988. [4]

In 2022, the first prize increased to £20,000 following sponsorship from Premier Greyhound Racing (the collaboration between the Arena Racing Company and Entain. [5]

It was inaugurated in 1948 and was originally a competition for British Bred Greyhounds only before switching to all-comers. The event originally called the Regency Produce Stakes immediately attracted interest with 161 British Bred litters in the first year and over 200 litters in the 1949 edition and has remained a significant event.

The Television Trophy is a greyhound racing competition held annually. It was inaugurated in 1952 and shown on the BBC. A different venue was chosen each year over the marathon distance of the relevant track. The competition consisted of heats and a final one week later.

The Coronation Cup is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Romford Greyhound Stadium.
