Chicago Ridge Mall, formerly Westfield Chicago Ridge from 2004 to 2012, is a shopping mall in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. The mall includes one anchor store (Kohl's), as well as Aldi, Michaels arts and crafts store, Dick's Sporting Goods, AMC Theatres and a food court. It was built in 1981, and expanded in 1986. In April 2012, Westfield sold the mall to Starwood Capital Group, with JLL responsible for management.
The Chicago Ridge Mall began construction in 1980 as a $50 billion project at the site of the former Starlite Drive-In Theatre, which closed in 1979 after a 31-year run. The entire mall opened in 1981. The Lenhdorff Group bought the mall in 1986 and sold it to JMB Realty a year later. [5]
In July 1981, Essaness Theatres opened its triplex cinema at the mall, which later became a six-screen theater. The theatre throughout the years went into the chains of Cineplex Odeon, then Loews, and finally AMC. In 1987, a Carson Pirie Scott store was added on to the mall. In 1993, Montgomery Ward was added as an anchor in a spot previously occupied by Madigan's. [6] The Montgomery Ward space later became Bed Bath & Beyond and Steve & Barry's, the latter of which closed in 2008. In 2010, Westfield Group confirmed that Aldi would open in 2011 in the space vacated by Steve and Barry's. [7] In August 2015, a two-story H&M was added to the mall. Red Robin opened on November 21, 2016. [8]
On April 18, 2018, it was announced that Carson's would be closing as parent company The Bon-Ton Stores was going out of business. The store closed on August 29, 2018. [9]
On June 17, 2020, plans were announced for Dick's Sporting Goods to open in the lower level of the former Carson's space. [10] The store opened on August 6, 2021. [11]
On February 12, 2021, it was announced that Sears would also be closing as part of a plan to close 32 stores nationwide. The store closed on May 2, 2021. [12]
On July 23, 2021, it was announced that the Disney Store would be closing as part of a plan to close at least 60 stores nationwide. The store closed on August 18, 2021. It was the last location with the original 1990's "pink and green" design. [13]
On January 31, 2023, it was announced that Bed Bath & Beyond would close as part of a plan to close 87 stores nationwide, which will leave Kohl's, Michaels, and AMC Theatres as the only anchors left. [14]
In March 2024, Burlington announced that it will open on May 31, 2024.

Hawthorn Mall, formerly Westfield Hawthorn, is a shopping mall in Vernon Hills, Illinois. It was developed by Urban Investment and Development Co, and anchor stores Sears and Marshall Field & Company as part of New Century Town, a community with 5,000 condominiums and townhomes planned at the time. The mall features JCPenney, and Macy's, in addition to a Dave & Buster's and a 12-screen AMC Theatres.
Northbrook Court is a shopping mall in Northbrook, Illinois with a collection of stores serving the North Shore suburbs of Chicago. Located on 130 acres (0.53 km2) of land, the mall currently features the traditional retailer Neiman Marcus as well as a number of prominent specialty retailers such as Apple, Lululemon, and Louis Vuitton. The mall is in the midst of a perpetually postponed $750 million update and enhanced development which was unveiled in April 2023. In June 2023, the mall was declared blighted and a new 1% sales tax was introduced to pay for improvements.

The tract of land on which it sits was annexed by the city of Hobart from unincorporated Ross Township in 1993. It lies in the Chicago metropolitan area. Southlake Mall is the only enclosed super regional mall in Northwest Indiana, as well as one of largest in the state overall along with Castleton Square in Indianapolis and Glenbrook Square in Fort Wayne. The Macy's store was an L. S. Ayres store prior to September 9, 2006. The mall first opened with only two anchor stores – JCPenney and Sears – and the north and south anchor wings were added later. The former Carson's had housed the cafeteria-style "The Garden Restaurant" by the entrance near the security garage on the south side of the mall from 1975 to 1989.
