Opened in 1962 as the first enclosed mall in Michigan, it was built on a 74-acre (30 ha) site. After expansions in 1987 and 1993, it comprised more than 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2) of retail space. At its peak, it had approximately 200 inline tenants and six anchor stores: Hudson's, Sears, J. C. Penney, Montgomery Ward, Service Merchandise, and Kohl's.

There are seven vacant anchor and junior anchor stores that were once Sears, Macy's, The Bon-Ton, Ross Dress for Less, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Ulta Beauty and Hollywood Theaters.
Genesee Valley Center is an enclosed shopping mall located in Flint Township, Michigan, outside the city of Flint, Michigan, United States. Opened in 1970, the mall is 1,272,397 square feet (118,209.5 m2) of leasable area. The mall has three anchor tenants: JCPenney, Macy's, and Play Big. It comprises more than 120 tenants, including a food court, and an external concourse called the Outdoor Village which also features a Barnes & Noble bookstore. The mall is located on Miller Road and Linden Road, near the junction of Interstate 69 (I-69) and I-75.

Springdale Mall is a shopping center located in Mobile, Alabama, United States, directly across from Bel Air Mall. Opened in 1959 as an open-air shopping center, Springdale Mall was later redeveloped as an enclosed shopping center. Facing competition from larger shopping centers in the area, Springdale was demolished in stages in the 2000s, with most of the former enclosed mall being replaced with big-box stores.
Wonderland Village is an outdoor shopping center in Livonia, Michigan, United States, a suburb of Detroit. The center is located at the southwest corner of Middlebelt Road and Plymouth Road, approximately one mile south of I-96. Opened in 1959 as the outdoor Wonderland Center, it originally featured Montgomery Ward and Federal's as its major anchor stores. A 1980s renovation enclosed the formerly open-air complex and renamed it Wonderland Mall, by which point the anchor stores were Montgomery Ward, Service Merchandise, and Target. This configuration lasted throughout the late 1990s, by which point the closure of both Service Merchandise and Montgomery Ward had led to a number of vacancies. The center reopened officially in 2007.

Century Mall was an indoor shopping mall located on the southeast corner of Broadway and US 30 in Merrillville, Indiana, United States. The mall opened in 1979 with anchor stores Goldblatt's and Montgomery Ward. Competitive and economic factors sent the mall into steady decline and national retail chains left throughout the 1990s until the mall was ultimately sold for redevelopment in 2001 then closed and largely demolished in 2002. The mall's interior stores also suffered following Montgomery Ward's remodeling. Montgomery Ward removed their mall entrance and told customers that no stores remained, when in reality close to a dozen stores were still open. A strip mall development named Century Plaza now occupies the land and some of the former anchor store buildings.
Meadowbrook Mall is a regional shopping mall in Bridgeport, West Virginia. It was built in late 1982 by the Cafaro Company of Youngstown, Ohio. The original architecture and engineering was done by the Keeva J. Kekst company. The mall includes four anchor stores, JCPenney, Target, Marshalls, and a Cinemark theater, with a fifth anchor on the way as Boscov's is opening in 2023. Former anchors include Elder-Beerman, Ames, Murphy's Mart, Stone & Thomas, The Bon-Ton, Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Joann. Marshalls was added in 2008. ULTA Beauty opened here in 2015. The mall has a gross leasable area of 849,206 square feet (78,894 m2) and 109 stores, classifying it as super-regional according to the International Council of Shopping Centers. In 2023, Boscov's announced that a store will open at the mall in the later part of the year, replacing the former Sears and nearby mall stores. This will be Boscov's 50th store and first location in West Virginia.
