The Chicago Soul was a professional indoor soccer team that played in the Major Indoor Soccer League. The Soul joined the MISL as an expansion team named the Chicago Kick in 2011, replacing the defunct Chicago Riot. As of September 2013, the club was no longer listed as a MISL team. [1]
On September 27, 2011, the MISL announced that the Chicago Kick had failed to secure a suitable venue in time and would not play for the 2011–12 season. The Kick would try to join the league for the 2012–13 season. [2] [3]
On March 11, 2012, the team announced that they secured the Sears Centre as their home venue for the 2012–13 MISL season. [4] [5]
On June 22, 2012, the MISL awarded the Kick franchise to CEO/Owner Dave Mokry. [6]
On July 6, 2012, the team was renamed the Chicago Soul and Narciso “Chicho” Cuevas was hired as head coach. [7]
On September 25, 2012, Cuevas resigned as head coach before the season started, citing family reasons. He was replaced by former Chicago Power player/coach Manny Rojas. [8] [9]
The Soul won their first MISL game on November 2, 2012, defeating the Syracuse Silver Knights 13–8. [10]
On December 11, 2012, Manny Rojas was fired as head coach after a 2–7 start. He was replaced with Novi Marojević. [11]

Veteran Chicago Sting Play By Play Broadcaster Howard Balson was named to the same post with the Soul. The Public Address Announcer for Soul Home Games at Sears Centre was Les Grobstein, who was replaced by Brett Myhres midway through the season.
Predrag Radosavljević, better known by the nickname Preki, is a Serbian-American former soccer player and coach. He is currently an assistant coach with Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer (MLS). He previously coached Sacramento Republic FC and Saint Louis FC in the United Soccer League and coached in MLS with Toronto FC and Chivas USA.

He spent two seasons in the North American Soccer League, four in the Major Indoor Soccer League, three in the American Indoor Soccer Association and one in the American Soccer League.
Hayden Knight is a retired Trinidad-American soccer defender and current high school soccer coach. He earned three caps with the United States men's national soccer team in 1984.
Elvis Comrie is a former English-American football forward and coach. Comrie played three seasons in the North American Soccer League, one in Major Indoor Soccer League, one in the American Indoor Soccer Association, two in the American Soccer League and one in the American Professional Soccer League. He earned four caps with the U.S. national team in 1984. Comrie worked briefly as a stockbroker and was formerly a college soccer coach, primarily at Holy Cross. He was also the head coach of the Worcester Hydra of the USL Premier Development League in 2012.
Byron Álvarez is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a forward. He was the 2010–2011 MISL Most Valuable Player.
The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), originally known as the National Indoor Soccer League, was a professional indoor soccer league which began play in 2008. It was the third league to be known as the Major Indoor Soccer League after the MISL I and MISL II. The MISL name is arguably the most recognizable name in indoor soccer due to its history dating back to 1978. The league name and assets are currently owned by the United Soccer Leagues. The departure of six teams which joined the Professional Arena Soccer League after the 2013–14 season effectively ended the MISL.
Mark Simpson is a retired American soccer goalkeeper and former coach who spent six seasons with D.C. United in Major League Soccer. He backstopped the team to the MLS Cup 1996. He also spent one season in the American Professional Soccer League, two in the USISL and six in the National Professional Soccer League. He earned one cap with the U.S. National Futsal Team in 1999. He was the Director of Soccer Operations for the planned North American Soccer League team Virginia Cavalry FC.
Omid Hamid Namazi Zadeh is an American retired soccer defender and coach. Namazi played professionally in the American Soccer League, American Professional Soccer League, Major League Soccer, USISL and National Professional Soccer League where he was the 2001 Defender of the Year and he played for United States national futsal team. He is a two-time Coach of the Year in the Major Indoor Soccer League and coached in the Women's United Soccer Association. As assistant coach of Iran, he led the team to qualification to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
Erich Geyer is a German former football (soccer) defender who spent most of his career in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. Following his retirement from playing, he coached for over twenty years.
The Rochester Lancers are an indoor soccer team in the Major Arena Soccer League. The team is named in honor of the Rochester Lancers of the North American Soccer League. The team was active from November 2011 through March 2015. In July 2015, the team cited a sharp increase in the cost of insurance to more than double the team's payroll costs and announced the end of the franchise. A new version of the team contested the 2018–19 Major Arena Soccer League 2 season; for 2019–20 the team moved back up to the MASL.

The 2013–14 Professional Arena Soccer League season was the sixth season for the PASL, an American professional indoor soccer league. The regular season started on November 1, 2013 and ended on February 16, 2014. After regional playoffs in late February, the three regional winners and host Chicago Mustangs competed at the Sears Centre for the Ron Newman Cup on March 15–16, 2014. The Mustangs capped a perfect season by winning the league championship.
