The Qingdao–Jinan railway or Jiaoji Railway is a railway in Shandong Province,China. The railway is 393 kilometres (244 mi) in length and connects Qingdao,on the Jiaozhou Bay,and Jinan,the provincial capital of Shandong. Adolph von Hansemann and other German financiers funded construction of the railway,then known as Schantung Eisenbahn Gesellschaft,which began September 23,1899,and was completed in 1904. Since the quadruple tracking of this corridor with the opening of the parallel Qingdao–Jinan passenger railway,the line is mostly used for freight with some conventional passenger services.

The Lancun−Yantai railway or Lanyan railway is a double-track,electrified railway in Shandong Province,China. The line runs from Yantai on the north coast of the Shandong Peninsula southwest to Lancun,near Qingdao,on the Jiaozhou–Jinan railway and has a total length of 183.71 km (114.15 mi). It was built from 1953 to 1956 and double-tracked in 2001. Electrification work,completed in 2010,raised train speed on the line from 80 km/h (50 mph) to 120 km/h (75 mph).
The Zibo–Dongying railway or Zidong railway,also called the Zhangdian–Dongying railway or Zhangdong railway,is a railroad in Shandong Province of northern China,between Zibo and Dongying. The railway has a total length of 91 kilometres (57 mi). and was completed in 1972. The line branches off of the Jiaozhou–Jinan railway at the Zhangdian station near Zibo. Major cities and towns along route include Zibo,Boxing County,and Dongying.

Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway is a high-speed railway located in China's,Shandong Province. It travels along the Shandong Peninsula connecting to Qingdao and Rongcheng. Line length is 298.842 km (186 mi). The design speed is based on 250 km/h (155 mph) service. However,it has been reserved for the line to be upgraded,if warranted,to 300 km/h (186 mph). Construction consisted of a three-month preparation period,a building period of 27 months and with a joint testing and commissioning period of six months. On December 28,2014,the Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway opened from Jimo to Rongcheng. The whole line opened on November 16,2016.
The Jinan–Qingdao high-speed railway or Jiqing high-speed railway is a high-speed railway between Qingdao and Jinan,the two main cities of Shandong province. Qingdao and Jinan were already served by two double-track lines consisting of the high-speed Qingdao–Jinan Passenger Railway and the conventional Qingdao–Jinan Railway. The new railway is a part of the Qingdao–Yinchuan corridor,one of the 8+8 national high-speed rail gridline,and provides further relief to rail transport between Qingdao and Jinan. Planning was approved by the NDRC on June 10,2014 with construction starting a year later. Tracklaying started in 2017 and the whole line was opened on 26 December 2018. The railway shortens travel times between Qingdao and Jinan to 1 hour. This is in contrast to the 2.5 hours needed on the Qingdao–Jinan Passenger Railway and 4 hours on the original conventional Qingdao–Jinan Railway.
