China Ocean Shipping Company, Limited, formerly China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, commonly known for its abbreviated name COSCO Group, or simply, COSCO, is one of the major holding companies for COSCO Shipping, one of the world's largest shipping companies. COSCO Shipping was formed in January 2016 by a merger of COSCO and China Shipping Group as one conglomerate.

It is the parent company of Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), one of the world's largest container shipping companies.

<i>CSCL Asia</i>

CSCL Asia is a container ship owned by Arisa Navigation Co Ltd, and sails under a Hong Kong flag. It was the largest container ship in the world when it was built. It is one of five vessels that will be deployed from Asia to the West Coast of the U.S. On July 13, 2004, CSCL Asia made its voyage from the Hong Kong International Terminals in Kwai Chang.

<i>CSCL Globe</i> Container ship

CSCL Globe is a container ship owned and operated by COSCO Shipping and previously, China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL). The first of a class of five ships intended for Asia-Europe trade routes, she was the largest container ship in the world at the time of her launch in November 2014, with a maximum capacity of 19,100 twenty-foot containers.

The group is focused on marine transportation services. COSCO Shipping was established in January 2016 by the merger of COSCO Group and China Shipping Group.

China Oceanwide Holdings Group Co., Ltd. known also as China Oceanwide is a Chinese privately owned investment company. It is the parent company of publicly traded company Oceanwide Holdings as well as the largest shareholder of another public company Minsheng Holding.

Universe-class container ship

The Universe class is a series of 6 container ships built for COSCO SHIPPING Lines. The ships have a maximum theoretical capacity of 21,237 TEU. They are some of the largest container ships ever built and was the second class of ships to exceed 21,000 TEU of capacity after the OOCL G-class. At the time they were also the largest Chinese built container ships.

Peony-class container ship

The Peony class is a series of 8 container ships built for COSCO SHIPPING Lines. The ships have a maximum theoretical capacity of 13,800 TEU. The ships were built by Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding at their shipyard in Shanghai.

<i>Globe</i>-class container ship

The Globe class is a series of 5 container ships built for China Shipping Container Lines and later operated by COSCO SHIPPING Lines. The ships have a maximum theoretical capacity of 18,982 TEU. The ships were built by Hyundai Heavy Industries at their shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea. The first ship, the CSCL Globe, was delivered on 18 November 2014. At the time she was the largest container ship in the world.

Star-class container ship

The Star class is a series of 8 container ships built for China Shipping Container Lines and currently operated by COSCO SHIPPING Lines. The ships have a maximum theoretical capacity of 14,074 TEU. The ships were built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">COSCO Shipping Lines</span> Chinese container shipping company

COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co., Ltd. is a Chinese international container transportation and shipping company. It is a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Holdings, and its parent company is China's state-owned COSCO Shipping.
