Zi Teng is a non-governmental organisation that cares about the basic rights of women who live in Hong Kong and those who came from mainland China,especially sex workers. Ziteng is formed by social workers,women studies researchers,church workers and labour activists,etc.
The Old Tsan Yuk Maternity Hospital is located at No. 36A Western Street,Sai Ying Pun,Hong Kong. It was founded in 1922 under the Chinese Public Dispensary Committee. After the war,Tsan Yuk Hospital has moved to Hospital Road and the site has become a multi-purpose community centre called Western District Community Centre.
The Progressive Hong Kong Society was a political group in Hong Kong. It was established on 14 February 1985 by the then Executive and Legislative Council member Maria Tam. Nearly three million people voted,equivalent to 71 per cent of registered voters,an unprecedented turnout in the electoral history of Hong Kong. The election was widely viewed as a de facto referendum on the concurrent anti-extradition protests.
Rev. Kwok Nai-wang is a retired senior pastor affiliated with the Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China (HKCCCC). He is the former general secretary of Hong Kong Christian Council (HKCC),the former director of the Hong Kong Christian Service from 1980 to 1988,and the founding director of the Hong Kong Christian Institute,a Christian activist group founded in 1988 to promote democracy.
The 2021 Hong Kong Legislative Council election was a general election held on 19 December 2021 for the 7th Legislative Council of Hong Kong. Under the drastic Beijing-imposed electoral overhaul,the total number of seats was increased from 70 to 90 seats,with the directly elected geographical constituencies (GCs) reduced from 35 to 20 seats,the trade-based indirectly elected functional constituencies (FCs) staying at 30,and the additional 40 seats being elected by the 1,500-member Election Committee. therefore still not allowing universal suffrage.
Jimmy Sham Tsz-kit is a Hong Kong pro-democracy and LGBT rights activist. He served as a convener for the pro-democracy organisation Civil Human Rights Front (CHRF) until October 2020 and serves as a secretary for the LGBT rights organisation Rainbow of Hong Kong. He is a longtime member of the League of Social Democrats. In 2019 he was elected to the Sha Tin District Council by residents of Lek Yuen constituency,but he resigned from this position in July 2021 amidst a government crackdown on pro-democracy councillors.
Andrew Chiu Ka-yin is a Hong Kong politician,democracy activist,experienced accredited mediator and arbitrator. He is a member of the Democratic Party,strategy committee member of the Professional Commons,chairperson of Hong Kong Society of Accredited Mediators and convenor of Power for Democracy,as well as an elected member of the Eastern District Council for Tai Koo Shing West since 2008.
Figo Chan Ho-wun is a Hong Kong pro-democracy activist who served as convener of the Civil Human Rights Front from October 2020 until his conviction in May 2021,when he was succeeded by Chung Chung-fai. As vice-convener of the organisation Chan and then convener Jimmy Sham Tsz-kit,planned major marches during the 2019–20 Hong Kong protests. In November 2019,Chan and Emily Lau were awarded the John McCain Prize for Leadership in Public Service on behalf of the people of Hong Kong during the Halifax International Security Forum. He also is member of the League of Social Democrats.
Christine Choi Yuk-lin,is the current Secretary for Education in Hong Kong,formerly the principal of Fukien Secondary School and vice-chairlady of Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers.
