Claes Nyberg (born 3 March 1971) is a Swedish former long-distance runner who competes mostly in cross country running. His highest international achievement was a silver medal at the 1997 European Cross Country Championships. He made seven appearances at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships between 1989 and 2002, with his best placing of 33rd coming both 2000 and 2001. He was Sweden's leading cross country runner during his career.

Nyberg won fourteen individual national titles during his career. [1] He was a perennial runner-up at the Nordic Cross Country Championships, taking the second spot on five occasions between 1997 and 2002. He finally won the Nordic title in 2004. [2] He also twice represented Sweden at the European Athletics Championships, running the 10,000 metres in 1998 and 2002.

José Carlos Adán Arias is a retired Spanish long-distance runner who specialized in cross-country running. In total, he made twelve appearances at the competition, from 1986 to 2002. He also represented his country at the 1993 World Championships in Athletics, placing 16th in the 10,000 metres, and at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, being eliminated in the 10,000 m heats. Iulia Olteanu is a Romanian former long-distance runner who competed in cross country, track and road running events.

Annette Sergent is a French former long-distance runner. She represented her country three times at the Summer Olympics, but it was in cross country running that she had her greatest success. She became the first Frenchwoman to win a world title in the sport at the 1987 IAAF World Cross Country Championships and won for a second time in 1989. In addition to these victories, she made eleven appearances at the competition and placed third in both 1986 and 1988.

Britt Holmquist is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She was twice a competitor at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup and was the bronze medallist in the first ever women's race in 1975. She was part of a Swedish medal sweep alongside Margareta Simu and Siv Gustavsson. While both Simu and Gustavsson returned to the podium at the 1977 edition, Holmquist fell back to fifth behind British opposition.

John Barry Nuttall is a male British former long-distance runner who competed in track and cross country running. He competed for Great Britain at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He also represented his country twice at the World Championships in Athletics and five times at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. He was a silver medallist at the 1994 IAAF World Cup and a bronze medallist at the 1994 Commonwealth Games.

Fabiana Cristine da Silva is a Brazilian female former distance runner who competed in the 800 metres up to the half marathon. She competed six times at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships and also represented her country at the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and the 2011 Pan American Games.

Ari Paunonen is a Finnish male former middle- and long-distance runner who competed over distances from 800 metres up to 10,000 metres. His best international performances at a major event were bronze at the 1977 European Cup and fifth at the 1983 European Athletics Indoor Championships. He was also the 1500 m silver medallist at the Nordic Indoor Athletics Championships in 1986.

Tamara Koba is a Ukrainian former middle- and long-distance runner who competed for Ukraine and the Soviet Union. She was a gold medallist at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1980. Koba represented Ukraine at the World Championships in Athletics in 1995 and at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 1994 and 1995.
